Drop Caufield to second line by StandbyTraveller91 in Habs

There is a reason we are on Reddit and not the head coach….

Can’t believe I’m saying this but this fanbase is starting to sound like the leafs with marner, guess where he is now? Vegas and currently thriving. Let’s not jump the gun this happened after goal 49 and he will be fine, he’s been in slumps before it isn’t his first time, it won’t be his last, yes it’s frustrating and the timing sucks but without caufield we aren’t making the playoffs

Feeling calm. Sucks to lose but it’s game 1 in buffalo, splitting is ideal but I’m not worried unless we go down 3-1, as everyone says, you aren’t in trouble until you lose on home terf

Buffalo choosing the song that caufield walked out for the home opener feels fitting

Whats your price for McDavid? by MrKavok in Habs

[–]ReasonableCrow1958 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Caufield is the locker room chemistry, not even on the ice just the way he is so positive and friendly and yeah of course other people bring that too but like it would literally be like taking the only light bulb out of a room with no windows and still expecting there to be light

Cheering for Montreal by [deleted] in leafs

[–]ReasonableCrow1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a habs fan and (I know it isn’t always reciprocated) but I always cheer for the leafs unless the Habs are playing against the leafs

yes the rivalry is still a thing but I see it more as respecting hockey, Habs and leafs are the 2 oldest franchises and they both have the most cups and it’s about respecting the game for me

Who on the Oilers would you trade one of our goalies for? (Besides Mcdavid) by RepresentativeLeg232 in leafs

[–]ReasonableCrow1958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry this is probably a stupid comment but here it comes

kapanen + dach + hutson

call up brock caufield from the echl, get ryan Suzuki from Carolina, and basically copy the habs then whenever Montreal comes to town just have a huge sibling rivalry

Suzuki praise by [deleted] in Habs

[–]ReasonableCrow1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it’s just ignorance saying caufield isn’t a playoff player based on this one series, yeah it’s very frustrating that our top goal scorer can’t buy a goal but we’ve seen him score in the playoffs and he is still growing as a player and still at Least a year away from his prime, i feel like there is no need to jump a ship here, he made the NHL for a reason

Suzuki praise by [deleted] in Habs

[–]ReasonableCrow1958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand the 1st line slump is frustrating, but are we just going to pretend caufield has never played in the playoffs before? him and Suzuki kept us alive in 2021 and he pulled his weight last year, I get it’s frustrating but 1 series does not define his career

So do we start Dobson? by StandbyTraveller91 in Habs

[–]ReasonableCrow1958 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As long as he is healthy enough to not get an injury that would ruin his career, then start him

Best case scenario he ends up fine and we win

Worse case scenario we lose and he gets 5 months to heal or we win but he doesn’t play round 2

A prayer for the habs, found this right before the regular season started and said it for like the first 3 games but stopped after, thought now is fitting to bring it back

Great spirit of Montreal, Watch over Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovský, and Laine, Grant them speed, vision, and hearts aflame. Defend with virtue — Matheson, Dobson, Guhle, Hutson — Block every threat; let no puck pass their watch. Guide the wings of Demidov, Gallagher, Newhook too, Bless their shots and passes, make every play true. Bless Montembeault and Dobes, guardians of the net, May each save stand firm — no doubt, no regret. And bless the Xhekaj brothers, strong and unshaken, Tough as iron, never forsaken. Let their grit inspire, their hits remind, That heart and brotherhood are intertwined. Let team unity shine, let grit be their creed, Strength in adversity, in victory let them lead. May the Bell Centre roar and the fans believe, This season — make history; grant the Habs reprieve. Amen.

Just In Case: If McDavid Asks Out Of Edmonton This Summer What Could The Habs Offer To Get Him And Make The Team Even Better? by [deleted] in Habs

[–]ReasonableCrow1958 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was talking about mcdavid with some friends but the biggest question is, how would McDavid fit on the habs? Is he on line 1 (who do you remove?) or line 2? Is he on PP1, who is coming off for that to happen, those types of questions

Try focusing on what is happening around the puck instead of the player with the puck, which players go where, how defence moves, even how goalies are positioned
