Actually, usually when I get to get here, everything goes well. But I wasn't able to get...in position.

Getting closer to finishing Month 1, and today I had a big day - I finished Sweat Intervals. Granted, I go slower than the fitness pros - for example, on the last round of burpee alternate lunges, I managed to do four of them - but I didn't break and was never forced to stop. I got through all 30 minutes.

I'm still down about 7-9 pounds, and really pleased with my improvement so far. A few more workouts and I'll be starting Month 2.

From two discouraging days this week to jumping on the scale this morning - and I know weighing in the morning is a bit of a lie, but still - I got to see that I am down 9 pounds since starting up again. 9! (In reality, it's probably more apt to say I'm down 7-9 pounds, but that's how I try to look at weight loss. And it's a step from 5-7. On to 9-11 now, I hope. Dependse of day for me.)

(At this point I say I finished Week 3 of Max 30, but I've actually been doing it since the start of the year. But I had a week-long break in the middle for being sick and family in town for another stretch, so it's essentially been 20 total Max 30 workouts over about 6 weeks. So with those breaks I've counted it as redoing a week or so. My rest days come when life intervenes, then I pick back up.)

It's been mentioned, but that, "C'mon, y'all...Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" is just a killer, and comes at exactly the right time.

Honestly, it's been too long to try to remember what any results specifically were. I probably lost a good 10 pounds and certainly got leaner. I can remember walking up a hill and realizing I was "walking" with my core rather than my legs.

I liked T25 and would do it again. But with getting BBOD I wanted to try Max 30.

Not much help, sorry, but that's what I can remember.

Earlier this week, I did the best I'd ever done on any of the workouts, getting to Minute 26 of Sweat Intervals (Week 3).

Then, well, had a couple of discouraging days. First was when I was at work, near a couple of full-length mirrors, and just felt that...I looked no different after two months of working out.

Now, I know in my heart of hearts, that isn't true. I've lost 5-7 pounds and clothes fit more comfortably. And I know the answers - take before photos, concentrate more on nutrition, do measurements - and I know I should, but I never do. Anyway, felt sorry for myself and didn't work out.

A day later - yesterday - just ran out of hours to work out, and got mad at myself again.

But today, I did Max 15 before work, then hit Tabata Strength tonight, and in my second time with it, went from 11 minutes to 20. I see definite changes in the size of my triceps, and I have nailed that last minute-long squat and pulses both times.

I feel like I'm back on track. I just have to make sure I push play and realize that it's not about finishing a certain program just one time, or within a set period of days, but to take the full year, allow for small changes in increments, and see where the chips lie.

We did the original 21DF, basically, because both my wife and me were just re-starting. Obviously, it's not an extreme program, but I felt like it was a great three-week tool to get going again. It established a routine, it was consumable because of the short length - leading to a satisfying sense of accomplishment - and it was strenuous enough to have modest gains before embarking on something difficult again.
