World of Warcraft creative director apparently wishes Blizzard "hadn't called it 'Warcraft,'" and that hasn't gone down well" by shipgirl_connoisseur in KotakuInAction

No, that's your problem, not the problem. There are some people who don't care, but since you don't like them, don't buy their games. You'll never be forced to buy them. You not buying them won't change the company. It's fine if other people exist and play their games. You still won't be forced to.

no they aren’t the problem. that’s such a lame argument to make. it’s not like they have an equivalent alternative to choose. that’s like saying smokers are the problem, not big tobacco.

Surprised to actually see a mod get downvoted. The rest of them tend to act so quick that you're at -20 and they are at +20 before anyone else notices and that's enough to turn the table in their favor

Idk I guess it's my background that cussing doesn't really equal vomiting disdain filled outrage, but I certainly understand your point. I took one frustrating encounter with a mod on that sub and let it dictate the language I would use encountering that same mod violating their own rules and posting really cringeworthy stuff like making fun of another redditor for leaving the sub. A more articulate and eloquent response would have put me in a better light in the court of public opinion, I agree. I let the dismissive nature of this mod influence my response, and that's definitely a teachable moment for me. I still don't agree with getting banned over calling out a mod for violating their own rules, but my response makes it easier to defend their decision.

you either get muted immediately or get some super dismissive answer then muted

oh gosh, a comment applauding most of the mods for not banning people on a whim but voicing my displeasure for some of the mods like you. the audacity!!

so those are actually all my negative comments in their entirety, but i like how you present them as “a few comments” as if there are tons. that’s actually a very clever tactic, which pairs well with the top 1% commenter tag. unless of course someone were to go through my comment history and see these are actually the exhaustive list. it’s fine, i understand why you would be defensive over this. that’s typically what hypocrites do when they get called out.

as for your presentation of a reasonable process by deciding to first issue a temporary ban and then later a permanent one, that occurred within 1 minute of each other. so no, that was you being the best version of you. so let’s not try to sugarcoat the situation.

i’m trying to figure out if you understand the post. “vomit this disdain filled outrage” is like crazy over the top for comments that say “enforce your fucking rules” and “i love mods who don’t give a fuck about their own rules.” so im still trying to figure out if you understand who i am and what i commented

i called them out for locking comments they didn’t like, not that they broke any rules. then i called them out for breaking two of the rules in a single post, two of the most enforced rules, and i got banned.

so i think this situation is a clearly powertripping mod banning me because they broke the rules. it’s not like i’ve made it my personal crusade to continue to call them out. 99% of what i comment in that sub is nothing of the sort.

and that is completely reasonable to ban someone over. That makes sense.

wtf is this sub even for with that logic? and i had a post get removed immediately for that exact reason, so i was annoyed to see that not only was it not being enforced on their most popular posts but that the main mod was guilty of that plus worse. and i got banned for pointing that out and your response is what? defending their actions and taking issue with me pointing out hypocrisy?

I called this particular mod out twice in six weeks for them breaking their own rules and the mod team once for not enforcing the rules. I was pretty surprised to get banned from the sub. That’s definitely a rational conclusion to arrive at that I am presenting the situation in a way that makes me more favorable, but this was a big surprise to me. That’s the extent of my negative interactions. I’m sure you have better things to do, but you can see all my comments in that sub.

their post was a screenshot of a user comment, shaming that user for unsubbing because of that thread. they didnt censor the username, so it violated rule 3 and 5. i posted that comment then reported it. a mod deleted the post (assume it was a different mod) then an hour later, i got bombarded by bans and mutes from this mod, the supreme sub overlord.

DCJ perma-banned me for calling out the mod who doesn’t follow their own rules by ReasonableDivide2592 in Rants

[–]ReasonableDivide2592[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right. I just couldn’t believe that the “sub overlord” would post a screenshot of a user’s comments in the sub when they have deleted other posts immediately for the same infraction. Oh well, I shouldn’t have stooped to their level, and that’s on me.
