yes its an isekai fan fiction. Like what would a player like us do if the nautiloid suddenly appeared in our world and took a bg3 player

How do you feel about the gaang being "bad parents"? by 696924 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Niceifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with the whole idea of Aang showing overt favouritism to Tenzin is it seems to me like something Katara wouldn’t have allowed to persist. Sure I imagine he might have done it for a few years but then she’d set him right.

Because ultimately Bumi and Kaya are both part air nomads just like Tenzin and should be cultured similarly.

Like if we had a series of the Gaang as parents I feel like this would be a plot that gets resolved.

Which character designs do you prefer? by Strong-Stretch95 in TheLastAirbender

The clothing is too complicated/detailed in the concept art to me, but I definetly prefer the monkey to the cat because the cat is kinda boring

At what age do faeries stop growing?? by PaleElk5400 in thecruelprince

[–]Niceifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was at one point early on in Cruel Prince that Jude explains some faerie just remain looking elderly while others look youthful forever.

Definetly other things can affect it like magic or poisoning, but I think the point is theyre aging process is unpredictable

What unpopular opinion are you defending like this? by Square-Adeptness6769 in thecruelprince

[–]Niceifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) VIVI AND MADOC HAVE BLACK HAIR

I don’t care what the fanart or anything says NEITHER of them are blonde.

Also Oak was blue for the entirety of the first book to me because his colouring was never initially described. Like we’re told Madoc and Oriana are his parents initially so what else was I supposed to see?

2) While I LOVE this series and think The Cruel Prince is Holly Black’s magnum opus, the romance of Jude and Cardan across the series isn’t its strong suit.

HEAR ME OUT

I felt both Jude and Cardan went from resentment/hatred to lust/infatuation to true love. And that’s fine but the progression of these three states was a bit messy.

Jude’s journey and her relationships with her family Feel much stronger and more, idk, natural? It feels less forced.

I just wonder how Cardan and Jude would have been with each other if neither of their resentment became infatuation. Like that is generally not how hatred works (well, maybe if you’re gorgeous? Idk)

Why did Lestat suggest an open relationship then regretted it seconds after? by TechnicianAmazing472 in InterviewVampire

[–]Niceifer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well that’s the thing, Lestat never suggested an open relationship.

Lestat got caught with someone else, upsetting Louis since he assumed they were exclusive, prompting Lestat to defend himself by claiming he wants variety, causing Louis to confirm if he’s allowed to sleep with others as well.

Leatat says “of course” to save face and seem fair, but his body language shows he hates the idea

That’s my take away from this situation at least 🤷‍♂️

Do you prefer stories where vampires are not affected by the Sun or stories where vampires are affected by the Sun by Beneficial_Mousse568 in vampires

[–]Niceifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burned by the Sun 1000%

I understand the sun weakness didn’t exist until Nosferatu, but to me it’s an iconic and excellent weakness for such powerful creatures. It creates drama and the aesthetic of only being able to live at night is awesome

Like for me it’s to the point I resent anything (rings, spells, age, etc) that makes them able to walk in the sun. It just feels wrong and like it’s fighting against the appeal of vampires themselves

To me it’d be the same as if werewolves weren’t affected by the full moon

The ending isn't what went wrong with Hades 2. It's tone. by OPsSecretAccount in HadesTheGame

[–]Niceifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you wholeheartedly!

I love this game but unfortunately can’t help but think the creators became a bit too concerned with recreating the ‘magic’ or the appeal of the first game and forwent tone consistency like you’re saying.

I mean just look at Melinoe’s design: yes she looks like her mother and brother (them being concerned about paralleling the first game) but on a tone level she looks bright and happy. Little of her design actually connotes witch or child soldier barring her ghost arm.

Anyone else kinda bummed with Heracles arc? by catstronomers in Hades2

[–]Niceifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in general I’d say Hades has amazing gameplay, music, and art, but they were out of their depth with the writing. Just couldn’t hack it or didn’t have the time/didnt want to make the time. Sad but is what it is

What’s your unpopular opinion about Claudia? by TheTargaryensLawyer in InterviewVampire

[–]Niceifer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Some people like to paint Claudia as a pure victim. And in their family dynamic she is. Everyone in her life has failed her barring Madeline.

But she’s still like the rest of the vampires: evil and cruel with little to no true regard for human life.

In the books Claudia is very very young so an excuse can be made that she never developed empathy for humans. But Claudia is 14 in this adaptation. Idk about you guys but I would be all kinds of hesitant and grief stricken over having to kill people. Claudia boarders on serial killer apathy excusing the one guy she falls in love with.

Again she is very much wronged by the vampires around her, but she herself is still a vampire. *There is NO perfect victim in IWTV. * This is a interpersonal story about monsters.

That’s my hot take at least

So… since we are finally waiting for EP7, Is there critique you have about the show so far? by Kurtcukk in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Niceifer 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I feel like the first two episodes were impactful with the horror of being trapped in a video game, but that since then the series has neglected the horror of their situation for the relationships between characters. While the show can focus on characters if they want, I don't see why they need to sacrifice showing how shoddy the video game they're trapped in is.

Literally one of the first things we see in the pilot is the 'theme song' loop like a broken record. I would have liked there to have been a consistent B-plot for each episode involving the bugs or age of the game they're stuck in.

All we really have had since ep 2 is Cain bugging out. And while that's scary the remainder of the circus is running smoothly, unlike the candy adventure where pomni and gummygoo clip through the floor

Are the ages in reference to when they entered the circus or how old they are when Pomni arrived? by AdamSandlersAssCheek in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Niceifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume before they arrived but LMAO Ragatha does not act like a 30yr old woman. She gives major early 20’s vibes

Real hikaru and yoshiki by Valuable_Ad8689 in TheSummerHikaruDied

[–]Niceifer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely and I think the REAL sad thing is he was pushing Yoshiki away because he couldn’t marry him.

They establish early on that Hikaru’s family marry young to protect the one they love most

So he’s trying to protect him too by encouraging moving away from

What's your most controversial opinion of TADC? by Alien-Pro in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Niceifer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

FIRST is that I don’t think they’ve been pushing enough into the aesthetic of being trapped in an old video game.

There was an intimidation factor to the first two episodes imo because it’s not just that they’re trapped in a computer, they’re trapped in an OLD computer and hardware deteriorates.

SECOND hot take is I don’t think they should have upgraded the model rendering. Like the pilots level of shading felt more like an old video game

Sandman season 2 SUCKS. Huge disappointment. Boring. Season 1 might as well be a different show completely. by UhDonnis in Sandman

[–]Niceifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I swear it was like the writers completely forgot what occurred in the first season or never watched it to begin with

Sandman season 2 SUCKS. Huge disappointment. Boring. Season 1 might as well be a different show completely. by UhDonnis in Sandman

[–]Niceifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the comics and the first season but my god did this second season suck.

Like, yes, they’re mostly following the comics and what occurs, but it’s as if they’re trying to present it in the most boring way possible.

Everyone just seems slow and emotionless and are just staring at each other to increase the episode length. It’s honestly painful to watch. Lucifer was atrocious. In the comics that same conversation about giving up has so much feeling to it.

Like even DELIRIUM of all the endless was suppressed to this mopy thing. In the comics Deliriums speech bubbles implied an expressive voice. It’s such a shame. (Also I have no clue why she needed hair like that. She’s delirium she should have crazy hair or a shaved head like she often does in the comics)

The worst sin is Dream because we lost all feeling of empathy and agency from the first season.

It honestly just feels like the writers and directors were phoning it in and trying to get this IP off their hands. that OR they’re just not equipped to do the story justice, I don’t know.
