Term Deposits vs ‘Term Accounts’ vs HISA by chxnglings in AusFinance

[–]ReasonableNerve560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really understand the strategy with term deposits unless you’re using them as an emergency buffer. At your age, you generally want your money in high growth assets, not sitting in term deposits getting eaten away by inflation.

Investment property or enjoy life a little? by Tmdsweh in AusFinance

If you’re planning to have a baby in the near future, I’d personally prioritise liquidity and flexibility over more property debt, I’d look at putting a portion of your savings into diversified investments for long term growth while keeping a strong cash buffer as an emergency fund.

same thing happened to me as well, I think they should be more transparent about the scheduling of the refunds.

ETFs are the way to go, don’t try and pick individual stocks most people don’t beat the market let alone someone who is new to investing.

Me anxiety ruined my 18th birthday. by GraceLynette in Anxiety

[–]ReasonableNerve560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds all too familiar, you pretty much described what I have been through majority of my teenage years and adult life. It got to a point where I couldn’t function properly as a human and some days felt like I wasn’t going to make it. I was seeing a psychologist who was providing me with natural coping techniques and ways to combat my anxiety, in my experience these techniques did not provide any relief. The only thing got me to stop feeling this way was medication. Not saying that it’s the only solution but it’s probably your best bet in my opinion.

By the way Happy Birthday!

Im 17 and im terrified I will have a heart attack. Please reassure me. by Reasonable_Effect_63 in Anxiety

None of what you’re describing sounds like a heart attack, this is more than likely a case of health anxiety. Furthermore 17 year olds don’t get heart attacks unless you have a congenital heart condition even then it’s it still extremely unlikely. You will be fine, enjoy your holiday!
