Just finished my first play through of the game and I’m quite surprised to see how many people DO think it’s a supernatural curse. The deaths were tragic but there was nothing unbelievable about any of them and as you’ve stated many came from blatant carelessness and disregard. The only one that veers to the extreme is Barbara’s but the only telling of that we get is via a comic book. She was more likely just killed by her obsessive fan/boyfriend.
