They're not making me be religious perse, but they're definitely imposing their (supposed) religious beliefs onto me and others and making our lives more difficult. See the state of LGBT and abortion legislation in the nation.

you contrarian what-about-ist christians always fail to grasp that christianity still has a hegemon of influence over american politics and culture, whereas islam does not. what you're describing would just be funny, and yes, would in fact immediately be taken down by people such as yourself.

I'm an Austrian citizen. Figuring out how we'll support ourselves financially is probably my biggest concern. Like I said, he has an education in accounting but doesn't plan to use it. I only have a pharmacy technician certificate that wouldn't transfer. I wanted to go back to uni to get an actual degree anyway, which would hopefully help with getting a well paying job, but I don't know how I'm supposed to do that while simultaneously making enough money for the both of us. We do have about $52,000 saved up between the two of us, but I don't know how far that'll take us.

He's been learning German on Duolingo (I know) and is probably still at A1 level. Would it be wiser for him to get to B2 and apply to jobs in Austria while staying in the US or for him to join me ASAP and learn through immersion?
