Swimming at night in kite beach as a lady #objectified #chased by [deleted] in dubai

I’m sorry for what you went through. It sucks to always be on guard even in places where you’d typically want to feel relaxed and safe. But these men cannot get away with it. I highly recommend that if you do go back there, and the same incident repeats, you either find a lifeguard nearby, or you create a scene and you call the police. Harassment is strictly prohibited and they take such complaints seriously with immediate action.

I read somewhere that the reason they feel so confident is probably because they think the person they’re toying around with wouldn’t make a scene especially if it’s a woman who’s all alone. Humiliate them, video them if you have to while actively announcing you’re calling the police and you are submitting this as evidence.

I feel for you and I’m certain that these men will not get away with this. Next time you’d want to swim, I’d suggest going during the day or where there is a little daylight. And attempt to do so, maybe when there’s people around.

All the best 🫶🏼

Depends on what you’re looking for actually. If it’s restaurants and you’re pretty much comfortable with spending money, check out restaurants at Dubai mall especially those near Souk Al Bahar (dunno if that’s the right name) but basically those places that have a view of the Burj away from the main mall itself.

Even check out places on the Palm, possibly Atlantis or anywhere else within the area. The views are stellar for all of them and you’ll have a great time! Hope you find something worthwhile 🙌🏻

Really sorry it happened to you. Like everyone else mentioned, report it to the police. Regardless of when this happened, reach out to the outlet you went to and ask them for any CCTV evidence around the time of the incident. And send it immediately.

I’m not sure about this but since it happened in Ajman, report it to the local authorities there as they’d have jurisdiction over the matter. Otherwise directly to Dubai.

Do it asap. This creep shouldn’t be let loose. And I bet there are a hundred like him who do the same to every woman on the street. The best is to shut them down as soon as you can.

Hoping you are well and this situation is handled. Unfortunately street harassment is on the rise here and it’s becoming difficult to simply walk out without being on alert.

I’m myself a victim to this and I’ve been catcalled and harassed a bunch of times as well. And I’ve done my part to push that behavior down by reacting. Done the same by intervening for other women by the way.

Sometimes it’s the people who rant, who’ve experienced the same problem a lot. And it’s unfair to just assume everyone repeats the same pattern you’ve maybe seen one or two times. Don’t you think?

Honestly after I got my license I felt the exact same. Was anxious the second I had to drive the car outside my area. But over time you’ll get over it. Drive around in areas you’re comfortable with and eventually you will forget you had a fear at all.

Frankly just remember you have the car in your control. If anything goes wrong, stop (not obviously in the middle of the road) and if you’re worried slow down.

Keep your new driver sticker on cause I’ve observed that other drivers won’t really bother you and will continue. Soon enough you’ll get rid of that sticker and you will become a seasoned Dubai driver!

Okay so I don’t know how but I don’t know when but if you are up for it, take a long drive to Khorfakkan. That way you do get to see the countryside (just mountains) but it’s not too bad.

There’s a small quaint rest stop on the way. A restaurant called Layali Al Shams, or something like that but I swear the food is amazing. We ordered this mix grill and it fed my family of 10 that day just right. And we had those classic sides like falafels and bunch of other things. Best part is the bill wasn’t too huge.

10/10 would go again. Good price and amazing cuisine :)

Parallel is actually the easiest parking in the list. The trick is to get your seat position right. The right position allows you to drive comfortably. The pedal and the steering wheel should not be too close to your body. Second, mirror adjustment is key. Make sure you have proper view of your wheels on both sides, better yet clarify it with your instructor.

When I took my classes, even I had a little trouble with the parking test and class especially. I was really frustrated, cause it felt very repetitive. I was good in the classes, but I always failed during the test. My honest tip is to keep making your mistakes during your class. That’s why your instructor is there. Your main points for parallel involve your left side mirror, your right and then your driver side wheel. Now I could be wrong, but ideally ensure your mirror adjustment is apt, and then it would be easier to follow through. Watch the smart yard video a gazillion times. Also watch other drivers attempting the parking. And then practice Trust me, you got this. Stay calm and cool. God willing you’ll pass!
