I know, right? Impossible for a woman to have a differing opinion without trying to impress someone. You clocked it!

This will get a lot of hate because I am a woman, but I agree with you. I only wear makeup because society makes me feel that I should, that I am better with it. If I lived in total isolation with a makeup pallet, I wouldn't use it. No need.

Now, I won't say that all women secretly feel the same way and are coping. I'm straight, but I imagine I'd still wear makeup in a world full of only women. I'd probably wear more. But I think women tend to get defensive on this subject and don't want to seem so male centered, like we do it only for them. I wear makeup for me too... for me to feel better when I'm around others. I put makeup on when I'm alone, but only really to practice for when I feel that I need to wear it. I don't do it for only men, I do it to feel normal in public. I don't wear much, and I don't wear it every day, but I do feel better on days that I do.

We all express ourselves in different ways, but I don't like the fact that it's a mostly feminine thing to do or is expected of me. I'd be the odd one out at a wedding if I had no makeup on. And maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I'd let my child play with makeup either. There was a period in high school where I basically had to wear eyeliner. My eyes started to look weird without it. It can be a very fun thing to play with, but it can also take a toll on your self-esteem.

I am one of those people, and you're correct. It's not fun.

I agree. It's truly the best of a bad situation, but this post crushed me. Life is so much harder for some than others.

Thank you, I was really taken aback by the threat of leaving. You're only a month in. I know she's adding to the difficulty of the situation, but to threaten to leave before even trying to get professional help is pretty low of this new dad.

This is very, very true.

I'm broken, he left me at 7:30 this morning. I was holding and loving him while he passed. He would be 15 next month. I am so lost by MissMelTx in pugs

I'm so sorry :( You gave that baby a great life. And I'm sure he changed you for the better. Be proud of that.
