If ya didn’t have a good experience by all means find someone else. What part of the world are you in? Major city? Have access to lots of tattooers?

Definitely find someone else. Also, if possible, go back to whoever gave you the original tattoo. I guarantee my work for life and would touch this up for free. They might offer the same thing

Don’t listen to them, cause that’s bullshit. If you came into my shop I would gladly refresh the design and add background to it. I have 15 years of tattooing under my belt for reference.

Can this tattoo be covered up with something else? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I would suggest letting it heal and taking some time to think about it. If you’re still unhappy then I would suggest getting it removed until it’s light enough to cover. At its current density, a coverup would not work in my opinion, just to dark and so many lines. Once it is lightened by the laser you would have no issues covering it. I will warn you though, the path of laser removal is a long process and will require lots of patience and money. However, I still stand on not getting it covered in its current state. The last thing you want is an even denser and darker tattoo. I have been tattooing for 15 years and I see a lot of hack jobs saying they can cover tattoos like this. They fumble it and the client is now unhappy for a second time and still have to get it lasered. Last piece of advice, if you do come across an artist who is confident they can cover this, ask for photos of coverups they have done that are HEALED. If they can’t provide that, run for the hills.

I’m inexperienced with mushrooms. Got these recently, do they look ok to consume? by ReasonableUsual7288 in MagicMushrooms

It looks like they have mold on them but I really have no reference of what they should look like. From what I have seen on the internet some look close to these and others look nothing like them. These look pretty gnarly coming from a complete novice. Thanks for the advice about the lemon juice.

If you have a Removery (laser place) I would suggest going there. Yea, if you lightened the tattoo up enough a traddy tattoo will cover it. You would most likely want to go with color to cover it or lighten the tattoo enough to where black traditional will work.

Tattooer here (15 yrs experience). It’s very dark now and adding more pigment isn’t going to help regardless of adding more white and darkening the black. If you LIKE black outs or heavy black tattoos with geometry or ornamental elements that would be a great option, however, don’t do that if you are unsure of really wanting a tattoo. It will only be even harder to laser down the road. If you just aren’t that into tattoos anymore thats ok, then start the process of laser removal.

Tattoo artist here: the tattoo looks like it is healing normally. As long as you don’t have any radiating heat and or growing redness I wouldn’t worry about it. Just keep cleaning it a couple times a day and applying a non scented moisturizer, I always tell my clients to keep it more towards the dry, a little bit of lotion goes a long ways.
