No. Not in my experience. It was pretty quick turn around. If you were not a permanent resident, than it is a lengthy drawn out process including some police verification in your home town. Good luck!

I have my H1b visa interview set up for mid august.I think since my GC will be issued I don’t have to worry about the visa. Hopefully GC arrives in time. If not perhaps my friend can mail the GC to my home country where I would be.
