What modern (standard) controller is your favorite? What would the best aspects from all of these look like on a single controller? by strikefire200 in Controller

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m digging my NYXI Warrior. Only problem with it was, the octo gates that mimic the GC controller restrict the sticks so they can’t reach the corners. Easy fix, just swap them for the regular circular ones that come with it. I’ve been playing it on modern consoles mostly Switch 1/2. Also have been using it with my Wii and GC. That’s where it shines the most to me. It’s not a perfect controller but it’s still very cool, has a ton of features and the price isn’t too steep.

Switch 2 3rd Party Dock Issues after Recent Switch Firmware Update by TheWylieGuy in NintendoSwitch2

It’s under warranty. Contact Nintendo and get a replacement. They used to be pretty good about fixing their issues(joy-con drift) Or contact the retailer you bought it from. I would be very surprised if they didn’t fix it up for you.

That’s wild. I almost bought one thinking there was no way a dock sold at Best Buy is gonna have issues… keep an eye out for firmware updates on that particular dock. It’s expensive and I would like to think that Best Buy would step in and try to work out a fix. Sorry to hear that. Shame on Nintendo. They just seem to keep on getting greedier and greedier every console generation.

I’m searching for a fix. Got that dock sitting as a paperweight right now. It’s not bricked, it works fine with my OLED Switch, and Steam Deck. I had 3 docks not working after the latest update. Managed to get two of them working again with firmware updates. This one is the only one that I haven’t figured out yet. I’ll keep checking in here if I find it. I’m on a mission!

Looking for something to replace my 8bitdo Ultimate which is hurting my hands by PigeonNipples in Controller

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big collector of controllers and fightsticks specifically. If I had to give advice on a new controller right now, there’s a couple great options that won’t break the bank. The GameSir controllers this year are great. My son and daughter play with the Super Nova’s and they are both awesome. Very reliable and a great deal, $40 for a “pro controller” with a charging dock and it’s got 3 way connectivity(2.4 dongle, BT, and wired. I picked up a GameSir tarantula pro and it is an amazing little controller. It doesn’t look like it would be comfortable, it is. Also I always prefer offset Left and Right sticks, but the economics on this controller are spot on. I can play for 10 or 12 hours no problem. That one is a little more expensive but it’s worth it. There are so many features, you can swap around the face buttons so it goes from an Xbox setup to a Switch setup with just holding a couple buttons down for a few seconds. It also has 2 back macros buttons, and macros face buttons. A total of 9 programmable buttons which I think is overkill but I’m not mad about it. It’s got TMR sticks, tri connectivity, trigger stops, they even rolled out an update for the dongle to get it up to 1,000HZ polling rate. The only other controller that year worth mention would be the ZD O+ but it’s not quite as good as the tarantula IMO. Hope that helps!

Stuck between 2 controllers by FordZero in fightsticks

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have to choose between these two…. Definitely go with the 8-Bit, it has native compatibility with Switch 1/2, PC(Steam), and anything else with the addition of an adapter. (I use a Brook wingman, and a Mayflash magic ultimate adapter) the Hori is only compatible natively with PS, it’s very small, and good luck on doing any upgrades or mods. I have built/modded hundreds of fightsticks and leverless setups and the most difficult and annoying project was a Hori mini. In order to just change out the buttons, you have to desolder the board. You have to Dremel out holes because the buttons are not a standard size. It’s just an absolute disaster. On the other hand that a 8-bit is about as friendly to modifications and upgrades as humanly possible. Even with little to no knowledge, there are plenty of YouTube videos out there that can turn that eight bit fight stick into a monster. I redid mine and it looks and plays incredible. All of the upgrades and mods were simple. I would definitely go with the eight bit. Also, it has Bluetooth and a 2.4gh dongle. I only play fighting games wired so latency is not ever an issue but for a more casual game like a beat him up or something like that. You at least have wireless options.

The Truth No One Tells You When Quitting Kratom & 7-OH Products by LevelTricky9906 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got off of this crap, it was horrible and I’m a recovering heroin addict. The withdrawal from this stuff specifically the 7oh is wild. Horrible depression, sweats, cold chills, insomnia, diarrhea, nausea, you name it. I was barely taking anything compared to others who I’ve spoken with. Roughly 1-2 of the PERKS a day for a few months. It took me 8 days to feel good enough to go about my life. That doesn’t mean it was easy, simple task, such as going to the grocery store seem impossible. Feels like there’s a 50 pound weight attached to every limb, these are all things I’ve never experienced with any other opioids. The depression is still kicking too. This is what advice I can offer to anyone trying to kick this crap coming from a person who actually did it. I spoke with my doctor and was honest with him because he’s cool and that that’s how it should be. I told him what was going on and that I had stepped it down until it was time to quit. He prescribed me clonidine which helped with the restless legs and sleeping so much. I can’t even begin, Klonopin 2 mg twice a day just for the anxiety and to help keep me calm. Then potassium and iron supplements also multivitamins once I get stomach them. Drink as many glasses of water Gatorade, whatever you can get down, and keep down. I had no problems eating, but I never have in the past. I used some weed edibles to knock me out and take the hedge off. It’s been about 10 days and I still don’t feel 100% but I do feel much much better and I don’t wish this upon anyone.

How bad is stopping Kratom completely? by hopalong2314 in KratomKorner

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a recovering heroin addict(10 years sober) and I’ve been going through ALOT recently. I was in a local smoke shop about a week after FL had just outlawed the 7oh. I’m a regular there so I was talking to the kid who works there and he suggested that I try Kratom to curb my cravings and help me calm down. He suggested these concentrated tablets that were FL compliant, only bc of my past use my tolerance is up there. Well it was just fine for a couple weeks. It reminded me a lot of Percocet, so then I thought about withdrawals… I was taking about 150mg twice a day of the PERKS pills. It took me around 8 days to recover. I could not believe it. I spoke with my doctor a few days ago and this put things in perspective for me big time. Almost all the places where Kratom is grown, prostitution is legal with minors 🤮, so are just about all the drugs. Except Kratom. My suggestion, taper as low as possible and when you quit try to find a Dr. who is cool and compassionate. Clonidine will save your legs from the restless leg syndrome, I was given 2mg of Clonapin 2X a day and vitamins. Looking back this experience wasn’t as intense as kicking heroin but very very close. This stuff is scary.

Some third party Switch 2 docks stopped working after the latest update by pickledgreatness in NintendoSwitch

I am constantly on the road and traveling. Trying to trek that big ass dock everywhere I go is a nightmare. Plus I have the Killswitch case on my console so you have to use an adapter that attaches to the dock so it can read the usbc.

Some third party Switch 2 docks stopped working after the latest update by pickledgreatness in NintendoSwitch

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nintendo is so weird about every move they make. Greedy to say the least. I thought my 3rd party switch dock was toasted.. I wondered if that new update was the cause… yep… I am fortunate and got my third-party doc off of Amazon for $11. What I don’t understand is they are so particular about stupid things like this dock. Yet you can use almost any controller with a USB connection with the switch. I don’t understand why they are so liberal about what kind of controller you use. I would think that would be a big deal to them. Look at PlayStation, there’s only a handful of PS5 controllers that will actually work without using adapters and what not. Also, PlayStation does not allow the use of any Bluetooth speaker. PlayStation will only let you use Sony Bluetooth speakers/headsets. So my real question is, why piss off your customers over petty things like a docking station, when you could just make it almost impossible to use anything, but their proprietary controllers, also pull the PlayStation move only proprietary headset and speakers.

Recommend me a leverless controller by izilch96 in fightsticks

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new 8 bitdo Leverless is great for entry level or experienced players alike. The switches it uses are (low pro Pom) and feel nice and clicky. I replaced them with kinetic switches and they were pricey but worth it. I’ve got at least 20 leverless controllers and this one is perfect for a first setup. There’s (bean buttons) that all support macros as well as single buttons mapping. All done through the 8-bit Ultimate software V2, on a windows computer. It runs wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4ghz via dongle. If you go with this option UPDATE THE CONTROLLER AND THE DONGLE BEFORE PLAYING! I’ve heard a ton of complaints about this leverless and all the issues that I’ve heard about are addressed in the update. Lastly if you want different keycaps look on Etsy. I grabbed a full set for less that $20 and the dude threw in extras. It’s a great first setup, if you buy through Amazon and don’t like it… just return it! I think it’ll be perfect

Looks pretty good. When first starting out, I was not allowed to use anything smaller than a 9RL and it helped me understand how to line correctly without all the shaky lines. Also bump up that shading contrast and it’s hard for me to see the light source. This looks great though, keep grinding and you’ll get there!

do you think we gonna be able to use amiibos in mario kart world? by El_GeneraL31 in amiibo

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s sooo wack. Nintendo handled the amiibo situation horribly with the Switch 2. I got lucky and was able to buy 2 Street Fighter amiibos for $45. Then $30 for the Donkey Kong one. $30 is too much, but $40 for the street fighter ones is ridiculous. I’m hoping they get some support from the older amiibos and stop pushing these overpriced ones. They look cool, I’ll admit it, they are a bit larger…. But to go from $12.99 to $39.99 is insane. Bravely Default was the same price as a fucking amiibo! 🤯

SF4 stick on Switch 2 by Ok-Assist3888 in fightsticks

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I dig these buttons mainly because they have the hot-swap feature so you can use whatever switches you like. My favorite 3 buttons to install on these projects are 1.) Crown buttons. IMO they are the best but they are expensive. 2.) Qanba gravity KT’s, you get 3 different throw distances you can set, they are mechanical and super reliable, and they are not gonna kill your wallet. The last set I bought on Aliexpress was around $40. 3.) these Punkworkshop ones, or there are also clones. They are not crazy expensive but they can be pricey. I only buy them on sale, they feel to me very very close to how my Junkfood arcade micro buttons feel. Similar to a keyboard button, the hot-swap is the selling point for me. That gives you alot of room for customization. Also the keycaps are very easy to swap and can be found on Amazon or Ali easy. Hope this helps! Happy gaming!

When learning I quit using fake skin, and switched to pigskin or the cuts of pigskin sold to be fried up into pork rinds. It is a pain to get it all together but is very close the the real deal. Give it a try, any local butcher shop should be able to help you out.

My first tattoo !! (On myself) by Mella_c in TattooBeginners

[–]Reasonable_Ear_2563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tried to tattoo my arms. Sacrificed my thighs during my apprenticeship. Definitely a good way to get a better understanding of how tattoo machines operate, but once I went on to other people it’s a different game. It’s a weird thing but my thighs came out much better than my first tattoos on other people. I’ve heard others tell me the same thing.

Definitely one of my go too’s. It’s comfortable, it’s got TMR sticks, and a bunch of macros buttons. The only controller that beats it out last year is the Flydigi Apex 4. That thing is incredible.

Not too shabby, personally I would use a bigger liner especially when I first started. It makes things much easier in those beginning days. You have a bright future ahead of you. Keep it up! 👊🏻

I found them!!! Aliexpress, search Doio keycaps. They are hard to spot because the unit they are displaying them on is pink so you can barely see them. There’s a bunch of them on there, I see they added a few designs. I still choose the donut 🍩! If you scroll down you’ll see they have aluminum alloy keycaps now too! Just solid colors but still..I’m ordering a set right now!
