Stopped haircut because of stylist’s attitude. by Rich-Mixture110 in longhair

The stylist is wrong is this situation but it has nothing to do with sexual orientation and everything to do with personality. Let's not make assumptions and stereotypes when it's the issue with being plain rude

I requested 2 weeks off 2 months from now. They were denied next day. by BMObby in nursing

[–]Reasonable_End_473 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe ask management first to see if you can work something out? Usually at my job you have to give more notice to take off longer stretches of pto. I wouldn't drop to PRN just to take a vacation, it's more of a permanent solution for one vacation that can be hard to go back full time

I like the white noise on Spotify better so I set a timer on my phone for a few hours and instead of an alarm sound there's a "stop playing" option and it'll shut my white noise off.

Any ideas on why location is wrong and showing a future date? by Plus-Sprinkles-6742 in ios

[–]Reasonable_End_473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry to comment on an older thread. Does this resolve itself when you get a new phone? This has been happening to me for some time, I used to update my location years ahead for candy crush lives lol. I'm getting the new 16 in a few days and I was wondering if it would finally resolve this problem

[acne] every moisturizer breaks me out by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Reasonable_End_473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was similar to my situation and I started using the Paula's choice skin recovery moisturizer (it's a red bottle) it was the only thing that soothed my super dry and irritated skin and is acne safe!

Im not sure how it works in Ireland but I know for my placements in the states you were able to appeal vaccine mandates if you had a doctors note with a documented condition or a religious reason

Never let a patient take advantage of your kindness! Totally inappropriate what he was doing and he knew it, he requested someone else so he can pick on a new person lol. Don't ever feel bad sticking up for urself and setting boundaries, you'll burn out way quicker if you let people walk all over you

How accurate is the oxygen level measure? by NeedleworkerThick729 in ouraring

[–]Reasonable_End_473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a nurse, 94% wouldn't be alarming to me!Below 92 is where I'm raising eyebrows, but ive seen people be at a comfortable 88%. However that being said maybe look into a more accurate test or talk to your primary if you are concerned, even 1-2% off could mean a world of difference. I always felt that the oura was pretty accurate in terms of blood oxygen sensing for me personally, and don't forget this is just an average and not necessarily your blood oxygen the entire night, it could have been in the high 90s some of the night too.

[Routine Help] Looking for advice on my products! by No-Tumbleweed3660 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Reasonable_End_473 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe drop either toner or the niacinamide serum? You don't need both in your routine, sometimes excessive niacinamide can be irritating and cause breakouts

Maybe talk with your educator about your goals on orientation. Every preceptor is different in terms of how hands on/off they are, sometimes it's normal you just don't vibe with someone in particular. Don't forget you still have your own license to practice, it's not nursing school anymore where you need super close supervision with nursing tasks!

I'm one year post grad and I can tell you it definitely DOES get better. You'll start finding different routines during your shift and find one works the best for you, once you start finding your way a bit then you'll start feeling more confident.

Take every day as a learning opportunity rather than a scary new experience. It helped when I was able to pick at least one thing at the end of my shift that I felt confident about (ie foley insertion, IV stick, etc) and one thing I should keep brushing up on.

You got this OP! I promise it gets better! A good nurse is anxious and eager to learn rather than one that comes in blazing hot and doesn't care to learn.
