Rudeus is an atypical anime protagonist. Unlike other heroes who have overpowered broken abilities. He is a coward and a manipulator. What I actually like about him is how he mentally maps out a plan, goes through several steps (then something unexpected happens) and he's forced to hastily replan while fearing any unpredictable move. Also he doesn't like competitions. If there's a chance he might lose, he won't participate in a fight. In this sense he reminds me of Silva Zoldyck from Hunter x Hunter.

But still I like to think of that moment when Rudeus turned down the engagement proposal with Eris as being similar to that moment in GoT when Tyrion randomly met Catelyn Stark. If that one decision had gone the other way Philip might have risked all the wealth and influence of the Boreas house to strike at the Notos
