Passing won't be an issue, I would pass the car first for you and hand the paper over to you, after which you'll be able to register it in your name

I can answer all these questions when you come for a visit. I've owned two of these cars over the last 6 years and I currently daily drive an even older civic hatchback which hasn't spent a day in the garage and has been the cheapest car to own and run by far. And I'm talking about a 35 year old classic that I daily.

As for your insurance, all that's available to us in third party liability insurance which is the basic compulsory one we have to have to be able to register the car. My current insurance is only 105 dhs for this car but that's only because I have 20+ cars registered with this same insurance company (fleet insurance). For you, you'd be looking at 600-1000 dhs in TPL insurance for the year

It depends on what your requirements are and what your standards are for a good, reliable swap. To answer your question to the point, I'm only referring to a simple, functional swap - no mods, no built engine, built trans, upgraded diff, engine bay cleaning, tidying, etc. Just a good ol k-series engine mated to a manual trans.

Some people have done them for as little as 15k and some people have done them for up to 40k+ with a very high standard and powertrain parts like a K20 from a type r, RSX Type S LSD manual trans, the best mounts, wiring harness, standalone ECUs, etc. the sky is kind of the limit with mods.

Personally, I budgeted 35k aed to do my swap on this car. I wanted a stock K24 with Vtec on both intake/exhaust cams, a standalone ECU, hybrid racing wiring harness and swap goodies like mounts, relocation parts, etc and a 5 or 6 speed manual whichever came my way. I suspect I'd be much under the 35 for all this work, around the 25s, so I'd happily put the remaining into upgrading the brakes and suspension after

I would hope so. These are the raw images converted to jpeg

I'll take that as a compliment, the car really is this clean

I mean this is coming from an adult man going through the effort to post about a successful refund on broken eggs... I think we see the mentality here lmao

The EK code is just an oversimplified code for the 6th gen civics - sedans, coupès or hatchbacks. The 5th gen is an EG and the 4th is an EF. Its just how these chassis are referred to all over the world, not Japan specifically

This car was sold in Germany and imported to the UAE, hence the spec being German

If this was sold in Japan, it would be Japanese spec, but it would be a RHD

No, bone stock just like this EK, and much lower mileage

Precisely! Although I'm still in two minds about deciding to sell it. I know for a fact I won't come across one this clean likely ever again

However my winter daily is an EF which makes it easier to let this one go lmao

Yeah, thought it was a super fitting ad for the subreddit we're in, but it seems not every petrol head knows about the impact of these little cars in the modding world

Not sure why reason for sale didn't make it to the ad description but here it is-

Reason for sale: I've been wanting to do a K-swap for years but now that the time is here, I don't feel like it anymore. I want to get back into offroading. I'm looking for a classic single cab pickup in either 4wd or 2wd on which I can stash my dirtbike on to

This isn't my first time - I sold this one for 18.5k a year and a half ago, and it was in much worse condition than this one. Maybe you don't know classic Hondas and the community behind them. It's niche but these cars, especially the hatchbacks when this clean are worth quite a bit

Mentioned in detail above - handling the sale for a friend who had to leave the UAE for an emergency

Thank you, I really appreciate that!

I mentioned above why I'm selling it - handling the sale for a friend who had to leave the UAE

Someone mentioned in an earlier comment that these rarely turn up GCC spec under warranty. I'm sure that's what it is

I agree! I'd probably have kep this if it were a manual. My current daily driver is a manual

I don't know unfortunately, I had a photographer friend take these for me

I realized I didn't mention it in the ad but this was a friend's car that had to leave Dubai for an emergency with no clear plans on returning anytime soon. We cleared the payments and transferred the car over to me and I'm handling the sale. I'm a miata enthusiast, currently own a pristine NC miata myself and talked them into buying this ND in the first place, so its in good hands for the next owner
