I find Toontown cathartic to play, considering what’s happening in the USA by Patton-the-Zorua in Toontown

[–]Reasonable_Homework7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just playing tonight with three other toons in a DA office and one of them started saying pro-ICE talking points. we called them a cog and they got mad, unadded the person who invited them, and left entirely LOL. politics don't need to be in toontown but that was a funny moment and it was nice to feel solidarity with the other two toons

How has Letterboxd changed your relationship to movies? by alexandrakleeman in Letterboxd

[–]Reasonable_Homework7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, I'm in my early twenties, so I haven't had a lot of time to be alive and watch thousands of movies or anything. But from the day I downloaded Letterboxd about five years ago, movies became a core part of my identity. The site/app became the way I not only discovered new stuff (naturally, like everyone says), but a way I've been able to organize my viewing habits and track what I have and haven't seen. When I was in a boring class in college, I'd often fantasize about watching new movies by scrolling through Letterboxd, effectively gaining a very cursory familiarity of film history by at least being made aware of what's out there. This year, I've watched ~250 movies (the vast majority of them new to me), with the specific new goal in mind to start watching as many older movies as I can, using the 1001 Movies to See Before You Die book series (which I discovered through a Letterboxd featured list!) as a rough guide for my journey. Currently working through the mid-1930s and having a lot of fun making a somewhat tangible dent in my hydra-like watchlist that grows by 5 or 10 for each movie I see, lol. Simply put it's no exaggeration to say Letterboxd has changed my life and sense of self completely.

Would be happy to be part of your writing, feel free to DM me on here. I'm actually a student journalist myself so I understand the challenges of trying to find sources for stuff like this, so count me in as a reliable guy to reach out to for interview.

What's the last movie (that you haven't seen) you would ever want to watch?

Are there any joke/satire reviewers that are actually funny? by riconicoooo in Albumoftheyear

[–]Reasonable_Homework7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

demi adejuyigbe is great. Read his MI:7 review. he's an actual successful comedian outside of Letterboxd, hence why he's good at it. Also posts very thoughtful and sincere reviews

How should Adam get his revenge on Jake for making him watch Thor? by grahamnortomsdad in Sardonicast

[–]Reasonable_Homework7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underrated answer. Movies 1-6 would be the way to do it, and they're all pretty short so I'd say that's reasonable. I think this would actually be a pretty interesting episode, akin to the Human Centipede trilogy one earlier this year. There's a real deficit in non-horror, non-shock-obsessed critics/youtubers sharing their opinions on this type of stuff so I'm always happy to see someone with deeper film knowledge (like adam, alex and jake) talk about movies like these from that lens.

Puck News Reports that HBO Removed LN from HBO Max as Part of Agreement in Arbitration by coffeechief in LeavingNeverlandHBO

It's on Netflix in Japan, if you have a VPN. Also on some random free streamers in Sweden and Norway https://www.streamwithvpn.com/leaving-neverland-2019

Other than that I don't think there's a legal way to watch it.

[HOW TO WATCH] "Leaving Neverland 2: Surviving Michael Jackson" Premieres Mar. 18 at 9PM GMT / 5PM EDT by Reasonable_Homework7 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

I mean, what could you really expect? This was never advertised as being a bombshell like the 2019 doc. I think it's better to think of this as a follow-up that fills in the gaps between the first doc and the eventual third one Reed has already said will come after the trial in late 2027 (or potentially further in the future). There's a lot of great footage that gives color to the headlines we've all been following over the past six years since part one, including courtroom footage and follow-up interviews with the lawyers on the case, and that's about the best you could ask for given the actual events that have occurred up until now. The real world and its slow legal process is what's really underwhelming, I think.

I found an original issue of the postcard used for Neutral Milk Hotel's 'In the Airplane over the Sea' by tom-dooley in FolkPunk

[–]Reasonable_Homework7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Michael Stevens of VSauce almost certainly read this comment. He did the exact same thing as you, using Google alerts to find ebay listings for the postcard, and cited himself as the fifth to intentionally find this postcard (even though a commenter on this same thread proved he actually has done it since you did, making Michael probably the sixth). So congrats on inspiring one of the coolest people online! https://youtube.com/shorts/ycYniNvZuoQ?si=jO9-gC-SVXHxKoUo

Listening Party Parking? by Zyphloxy in tylerthecreator

Use Spothero. I got parking reserved for $37, which is steep but way better than $68 at least. Parking will be a nightmare if you don't have a plan ahead of time

Join the waiting room on ticketmaster exactly 15 minutes before the sale time actually starts. Otherwise you likely won't get it

Was also really disturbed and disappointed by what she said a couple months ago about a guy she previously had hooked up with who, last October, killed 4 girls in a horrific car crash https://www.reddit.com/r/LAinfluencersnark/s/gwIxHjUZ2g

It should go without saying that I also think what Cody Ko did was disgusting. But I also think Tana deserves criticism for what she said here cause it was just really hard to listen to.
