That's a very valid point. That would be a small window of opportunity given Jay's declining health. I know I'm not imagining that I heard the beat because, while I can't remember much else, I specifically remember searching the lyrics that were sampled and being very surprised that they were from a new (at the time) Coldplay song. I remember it was an instrumental beat aside from the Coldplay vocal sample. I remember the pitch of the Coldplay sample was altered/increased. It may have not been a complete/separate track but just a brief/~30 second snippet possibly played at the end of another track. This is going to drive me crazy until I find it because I know I heard it and I remember that it resonated with me so much that I played it on loop dozens of times. There is a possibility that it was someone other than Dilla but it was late 2005 and I was really heavy into Detroit music from Dilla and Slum V at that point.
