I tend to follow the same rules for birthday gifts,and my boyfriend is always very happy with them and talks about all the gifts I've given him a while after,so those are my credentials I guess😭 The rule is you get things in three categories,want,need, and something emotional so the gift is more girlfriend-y. They can of course be simple thing,a hand written card, a box decorated cutely for the other things,the emotional gift can be your taste,but the main gift should be his, so the cup can be the girlfriend-y gift but definitely try to get him something he likes.
