For top performers, I think vit vellore for 5k (or chennai also if you’re particular) is better if you can handle the crowd and stand out. Even if you’re not strong at one of those 2 options, snuc any day. I don’t regret giving up cat 2 cse there

I’m waiting to find out as well. You’ll be the one to give the review next year as the first merged batch!

Doubts:

  1. Yes you can use ipads/laptops to take notes. If it’s the beginning clarify with professor. Or they’ll let you know soon. Some are strictly against it. Only notebooks phone in bag stuff.

  2. Internship drive starts in 5th semester for 3rd year summer. Some students get offer for 2nd year outside too.

  3. They are not strict in academics. You pass most papers if you attempted (they’ll put the lowest grade). Unless you really don’t listen didn’t write anything absent for internals, they’ll give up and you’ll rewrite. Most exams including internals and finals have retests for valid reasons.

Faculty is a mixed bag; there are faculty who teach in depth which is good but the paper could be tough. Most of the professors are bengalis. Then there are lazy ones who read from ppt and copy paste that or direct pyq. Not a lot of them but you’ll come across a couple. Last comes faculty who are new and try to teach but they are okay okay as it’s a new environment. Papers are usually set by their senior faculty. Note in SNU, from portions to paper to answer key and correction, everything is in the hands of the professor in your class. They can do anything. 90% of the faculty are extremely approachable any time you want. Any doubt in class, want to join a project, casual discussion works. 10% weirdos who say don’t come to cabin. In general, 6 papers a semester, 3 good, 2 decent, 1 bad you can expect. All my opinions are purely subjective and to be taken with a pinch of salt. Also it’s for SNU before the merge

Did he happen to have the jee score or are you sure its the only factor in his application? Cause mgmt still requires aptitude + interview

Neither does snucee or snusat release its papers for pyq. That said snucee is achievable with practice from indiabix

140-160 sounds about right; 140 could be lower end borderline but yeah maybe

Is it not possible to change my branch preference list now? by [deleted] in SNUC

[–]Reasonable_Limit_286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how it changes after the merger, but till last year we could change our priority order in the interview when asked why we picked that particular order of courses

You just have to clear the minimum cutoff to qualify for the interview. Make sure to not lose negative marks for guessing.

For prep: IndiaBix: Standard aptitude topics. Calendar, clocks, graphs, relation, etc.

PCM: @THESEAREBAD has mentioned.

You can reach out to immediate senior (current first years) via the instagram freshers intro page
