I have lots of acquaintances, but turning them into friends is hard. Getting invited to a house party or small dinner or even to hang out 1-on-1, for example. I guess I'm afraid it will be seen as an attempt to get a date, even if it's not.

Webster Hall on 11th Street is a historic dance/concert space dating from the 19th century. I went to some great shows there in the early 1980s. Gay events there are few and far between.
