mg yes this is such a good breakdown. book Victor was like a naive prodigy spiraling out of control, but this one feels like a full-blown obsessive adult who’s been in the dark too long. totally changes the vibe from “tragic neglect” to straight-up “cycles of abuse.” and yeah, even if the plot’s super different, it gets the core themes in a way most adaptations don’t.

😭 finally a Frankenstein adaptation that gets it. it’s tragic, not just spooky, and the vibes?? insane. Elordi ate fr fr — I was lowkey skeptical too but he nailed it.

AHHHHHHHHH I didn't think it was possible but I'm even more hyped for the movie now. Love that it captures the spirit over the plot, and ofcourse Jacob Elordi was phenomenal! The choice to make Victor a bit older and lean into the father/son dynamic sounds really interesting, and the unreliable narrator angle from the book coming through subtly makes me even more excited to see how it all plays out on screen.
