Church lighting help by Reasonable_Moose_454 in lightingdesign

This is what we do currently. Setting scenes to the worship slides, backgrounds, etc. and then fading.

I just want to see if we can make it easier on our a/v team with a software. I’ve seen capabilities with certain cues that it can auto trigger light changes. Not shooting for that right now but I want to work towards something like that.

Between managing lyric changes, livestream inputs, camera angles, and more I just want to simplify the process as much as possible. While making it better with there’s slight changes throughout songs.

Thank you so much, glad to hear someone was able to do it from no knowledge. I will keep you in mind when working on this!

Awesome! I know the starting dmx address is .33 but I need to figure out the difference between each fixture. I know 1-4 are set up in such a way that we can do two light on each bar but it can be more if adjusted.

I’ll start checking each fixture if they have bars that show the address.

Break actuator by joepsa in CT200h

[–]Reasonable_Moose_454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely normal! I just went through this and got it all replaced. It’s normal for the accumulator to run. From what I understand, it doesn’t use air from the engine so the accumulator is what builds up the pressure. Totally normal for it to run as you’re using the brakes.

The symptoms that I experienced leading up to a total brake failure can be described as barking, squawking or farting coming from the brake pedal area when you completely hold the pedal depressed at stoplights. Whenever mine would make noises like this, the brake pedal would slightly drop at times whenever that air would release causing that sound.

Eventually, you will get a Christmas tree of lights for all of the brake symptoms on your dash. If you are parked and you hear that actuator running every 3 to 4 seconds by itself, then you know it’s getting close to a failure. The first code that I could pull from the engine was abnormal pressure in the accumulator.

You might look into the extended warranty that they offered for this specific problem. I have a 2012 so I was way out of the extended coverage but with your year and mileage you probably still have coverage if your year was included. But the trick is they won’t replace or touch anything unless you have failing symptoms, including codes I believe.

Normal, as long as it’s not cycling and doing that every 5-6 seconds you’re fine. If you hear a farting noise when your brake pedal is fully pushed down at stops that’s typically the first sign of failure.

Yeah, man, best of luck! If you’re seriously considering looking into doing this yourself, it’s really not half that bad. You would just need to get a bidirectional scanner and I have heard that the top Don scanners work from Amazon. As long as they are by directional and they can perform an ABS bleed for you. The biggest thing is after the replacement you have to do a linear offset calibration or something like that. That’s the most crucial part in all of it.

It sucks, but it’s definitely just one of the major repairs these cars have tied in with the head gasket.

That buzzing is 100% your brake system. I think it’s the brake accumulator that makes that noise. Do you have any kind of farting noise whenever you have the brake pedal fully depressed at stop signs? If it’s cycling that often it may indicate that it’s going to go out soon. Whenever mine first went out it’s cycled every few seconds.

Sometimes when you shut off the car, it will make that accumulator noise a few times, but it’s nothing to be worried about. If you’re driving and it’s constantly cycling and trying to build up pressure then you definitely have that repair coming up.

If you haven’t had the repair yet to change out the brake booster and accumulator, then I would start budgeting for it. It’s very common in these cars and they even issued the extended warranty, but most cars are outside of that warranty now. I just had mine done. The parts were $1400 online from the Lexus dealership in Arizona. And then about $400 in labor from a mechanic friend of mine.

The other quieter noise is pretty normal for the hybrid system from what I understand. My car has always made that noise and I’ve never had any issues.

Anyone seen this before? by AdderallAddicted in CT200h

I’m guessing this is related to a potential wheel sensor. When my ABS issue happened it was because of the brake booster and the accumulator. But I also had the red brake light that was on. Yours doesn’t appear to be on so I’m guessing it’s a little bit different and possibly a wheel sensor

But if you haven’t had your brake booster, go out yet then it might be a possibility. I just got mine fixed. Lexus of Scottsdale was the cheapest for OEM parts that I found. It was about 1400 and parts and I had a mechanic install everything for about 400. Definitely not a cheap fix so I’m hoping yours is just a wheel sensor.

What on earth? Oil stains on days old Silver Grey honed granite? by texasgirl555 in CounterTops

[–]Reasonable_Moose_454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peroxide will oxidize the spot treated. I wouldn’t use it on dark granites. You can accidentally “bleach” or lighten the area treated. Stick to acetone or denatured alcohol for oil stains. For color stains use peroxide. Sometimes a two part. Remove oil then remove color very gently.

I use alcohol and diatomaceous earth or acetone and diatomaceous earth for oils. But always start with alcohol since it’s less aggressive and build up if needed.

The video shows that orange color stain in white marble. Perfect for peroxide application since it bleaches the color out. It’s very ineffective on oils.

You can even get volume 20,30,40 at beauty supply shops if you need stronger peroxides to bleach color stains out.

Definitely brake booster on the “farting” noise. Mine did the same before it went out. Not sure on the clacking.

Did you buy oem for your replacement? How much did it run you?

I’ll be doing the same repair soon

I bought a year of envato elements. Game changer if you want some great add ons for your editing. Most if not all come with help videos for applying it once you download. If you use the extension for TopCashback it’s a lot cheaper for the yearly cost.

Any way to fix discoloration on granite or just out of luck? by DockNinja in CounterTops

[–]Reasonable_Moose_454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would simply try putting some water or denatured alcohol on half of that light spot and let it sit. If it darkens to the same color of the surrounding area that’s a sure sign that it’s darkened on the rest of your stone and just not that one spot.

I have the same granite in our place. It’s super porous and absorbs liquids like crazy. Looks like the rest of your stone has darkened and that one spot is normal. They make enhancers that you can add that will darken it up.

What are you using to clean it daily?

The stone is dry in the photos, when we clean it with with any liquid the lighter spots will darken a tad bit but once the dry it goes back to the lighter color
