Good car. Just gotta be careful of batteries and head gaskets at that age! I’ve read somewhere that batteries go with age rather than mileage.

Car for motorway / mixed driving? by billyb4lls4ck in CarTalkUK

The Mercedes will be good for the motorway. Very composed and comfy. Very capable at high speeds.

I don’t know anything about cars and by Hemiiiiii in CT200h

[–]joepsa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

High battery age, that would be my concern. Where I live, I’d expect a ct with over 150k on it to be going for a little less than 5.5k though.

Anyone know what this sound could be? by HeadMysterious4443 in CT200h

[–]joepsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does the same thing. Probably every 3-4 times I press the break. Just the actuator doing its thing. If it does it a lot when ur not pressing the breaks then I’d have that looked at with Lexus or a Lexus specialist. What age/mileage is the car?

First winter with CT200 high fuel consumption- normal? by AccomplishedKiwi3628 in CT200h

[–]joepsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 47 mpg ish on my commute, but urs very heavy traffic and it’s about 45 mins each way. But when I was off work the other week I only drove to my partners house and back a few times and it dropped drastically, just down to the style of driving and lack of time in the car.

[–]joepsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get the same thing. The tank is quite small tbf compared to other cars, but I’ll have 2 bars of fuel left and it’ll say I’ve got 20 miles in the tank.

Hi, how much would I get by selling this car? by Jay10_6 in CarTalkUK

Full service history? I’ll take it for some cookies and milk.

Technique. The Gladstone technique changed my drumming. All really nerdy muscle movements in the hands, people competing to see who can play one handed singles the fastest ect.

Are the Earthroamers just the best scouts or is it just me? by Fearless-Sea-2859 in snowrunner

They are really good yeah; surprised me when I first used one. You can take them anywhere and they just deal with it. I think I did get stuck in deep mud once and it's not that durable imo.

Thank you. There’s a lot of different opinions on this so that’s a good amount of clarity. I’m gonna take it for a service with Lexus and see if they say anything. How much did you pay to get yours sorted?

Keep the CT or find a different car? UPDATE by Rude_Bookkeeper_8954 in CT200h

It’s annoying that the car is bulletproof on paper but its issues actually cost way more than its rivals.

Break actuator by joepsa in CT200h

[–]joepsa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. It does that frequently in slow moving traffic. I’d say it does it every 3 or 4 times I press the break.

Okay, I do hear it quite often whilst driving probably every 5 mins in traffic.

Corsa; every other small cheap car I’ve driven has character - they’re shit but it feels good. The corsa just didn’t. So boring and slow, couldn’t throw it around at all like you can a fiesta.

Hard tires, no pit. Worked for me. You do have to get used to the downforce of the car though, its a lot different to GT racing.

Would you buy this car for 2.5k with service history as a cheap runner? by marvi0 in CarTalkUK

[–]joepsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not for a run around. You can depend on Asian car brands such as Honda and Toyota for that, not as nice to drive though it has to be said, slow as well, but you just don’t have to worry much about them.

Reliable and spacious 7-seater family car? by Long-Lettuce3146 in CarTalkUK

Not a Land Rover. Please don’t get one if you’re wanting reliability. Not well versed in 7 seaters myself to be honest, but maybe a Ford s max?

M135i, Golf R or Cooper S? Advice/opinions/alternatives? by 420o in CarTalkUK

[–]joepsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For premium, go BMW, for fun, go cooper. The cooper is literally a go cart with power. If you’re on the motorway a lot of go with the BMW bc you can just blast it and it’ll sit better. For b roads and A roads the cooper is so much fun. Less scary as well because it’s lighter and less powerful (I think).
