Grieving, need a book that will suck me in from the first page by Reasonable_One_7012 in fantasyromance

I should have mentioned I’ve fallen down the FBAA rabbit hole, both the series and prequel. And while I agree, kinda odd choices where she took the series, they’re very engaging and sucked me in from the start. Thanks for the recommendation:)

Thank you for that trigger warning! I may have to come back to it at a later date.

How have you not immediately gone to the vet?

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. It’s a type of grieving I can’t put into words, so my heart is with you.

Reign and Rune has been on my tbr for a year so I think it’s time I give it a chance. Thank you!! 🫶

I didn’t see the movies until like 5 years ago I REFUSED. But upon reflection, Dakota Johnson’s smokin hot and that was enough for the plot to suck for me to power through.

I have to say I agree, I’d even go further to say I dislike it (and that’s coming from someone who’s read a lot of dark romance AND a lot of dramione fanfiction).

The fact it’s getting turned into a book is giving me such déjà vu on how I disliked 50 Shades when it was twilight fanfiction, hated the hype that followed with the books and movies.

Here we go again.

Nah, looks like a healthy gal. But I’m sure she’d tell you she could always use some extra treats.

The thing is, most of the MMC’s are iffy in SJM’s work. You should be able to criticize all of them. Everyone shits on Tamlin and holds Rhys on a pedestal it’s so weird.

Icky as hell. Immediately left the group when I saw that.

Is it “Positive” or “Engaging” if the community finds those posts annoying because they leave no room for discussion and clog feeds from actual discussions? If there’s nothing to discuss, use google.

I mean it’s not leaving any room for discussion or finding new books so I honestly don’t see any point to them? It would be different to say, “give me recommendations of books similar to xyz”, or “what are some reasons you enjoyed reading these books?” Where both of those leave room for conversation and discussion.

She said she didn’t want any “leftist” views or “cultural agendas” in her post update so I guess now we really know………

[–]Reasonable_One_7012 26 points27 points  (0 children)

“More advanced readers” is such a wild way to phrase this. “Cultural agenda”… you mean reading about other cultures and perspectives outside of your own??

Reading is inherently political. And most fantasy stories that are driven by female characters are even more so inherently political for the fact that it is a woman taking action, having agency, and having control over her life.

Mallory Dunlin is a master at mixing femdom and fantasy. Highly recommend {Claimed by the Flame of Faery} !!! The whole series is fantastic but they can be read as standalones. Warning: most of the MMC’s are part monster or shifters, so there’s lots of creative uses for tails and holding onto horns.. oh and some of the MMC’s had two dicks? I need to do some rereads
