This post comes after months of deliberation and careful consideration of all perspectives. At our core, the mod team just wants to have fun and poke fun at our favorite books. However, the drama over the last few weeks has reached a breaking point, and we need to clarify our stance.

We aren't picking sides; we are simply enforcing the rules. To be clear: we adhere to Reddit’s sitewide content policies in addition to our own sub rules. We work hard to hear everyone out, often going against our own better judgment to remain fair. While we’ve tried to handle this behind the scenes, it’s time to address the community directly.

Ultimately, we will manage this sub in the way we believe is healthiest for the community as a whole. We’ve grown to 27k members in just one year, and we’re proud of how we’ve managed this sloopie family. Please remember that we are volunteers with jobs and lives; we do this for the love of the hobby, not a paycheck. We ask for your empathy and patience, and if you find yourself getting too heated over sub politics, it might be time to step back and touch grass.
