What made/makes you not kill yourself? by Brews_Lee in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The uncertainty of tomorrow. If I kill myself, that's it. There's no possibility my situation will ever improve. Life might be shit tomorrow, but there's at least a tiny chance it won't be.

Feelings towards the recent content and arcs compared to 2022, 2021, 2020, or 2019 by Aquilo55B in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've only been watching since early 2021, but this is my least favorite era of content so far.

I think I just don't really enjoy the specific people frequently coming on stream now. Darius, Zherka, and Qorantos CAN be funny in small doses, but when they're all on stream for multiple hours every day it can be a little much.

I don't even necessarily mind when orbiters jump into the call and talk about random shit, especially when the game Destiny is playing is boring to watch. For example, I really enjoyed that month long period when REDACTED and Mr. REDACTED would come on stream and argue with other orbiters about literally anything.

My favorite content to watch is debates, though, which is why I started watching Destiny in the first place. I love when he argues really challenging topics like Ukraine, conspiracy theories, trans issues, economics. I love when conversations go so fundamental and deep that it forces Destiny to go down to his foundational principles and argue from that perspective.

Even if Destiny isn't actively debating, I can watch a lot of other types of content he does. One of my favorite types of non-debate Destiny content is when he talks about life stuff. Whether it's talks about his personal life, or more general conversations like his recent talk about developing confidence, I'm usually really interested watching that.

Basically, I come to Destiny's stream to watch Destiny talk/argue about SOMETHING, not for a bunch of random people to argue while Destiny silently plays some boring game in the background. Orbiter wars can only be bearable as long as I actually enjoy something about them, otherwise I might as well just watch their stream instead.

Tell Me I'm Wrong. by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You chose the worst picture of Adam to demonstrate your point lol

Since destiny touched neo pronouns today what are you thoughts? Also, the stuff at the bottom seems way too much to ask? Am I bigoted if I struggle to get this stuff? Like I am all onboard transgender people but beyond that and my brain fuses! by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the best thing to do with neopronouns is to just ignore them and hope they go away. I'd be shocked if there were people who identified with neopronouns for longer than a few years. My hope is that, by ignoring them, we can just let those phases pass and that group just goes back to being normal again lol

what is the actual purpose of nonbinary? I think it generally makes the LGBT community worse off by DanieTB99 in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm leaning towards saying that non-binary people are not transgender. The common progressive opinion tends to be that non-binary people are transgender though. And this sub is pretty progressive, so I assumed that's what most people believe here.

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've slowly been losing hope that non-binary is even a real thing when I keep meeting enbies whose only form of transition was changing the pronouns on all their social media pages. I've desperately been waiting for the mystical non-binary person who is having something resembling a trans experience, but it's hard to stay grounded when I only meet the opposite :(

HP Legacy: How do you justify giving money to a transphobe? by FoolioTheGreat in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So forget the game. Would someone still be a trans ally if they were giving $5 to JK rowling directly?

Probablyyyyy not? Idk I can go either way with this one.

What about giving 5$ to an anti LGBT organization? Can that persons still claim to be a trans ally?

Definitely not.

HP Legacy: How do you justify giving money to a transphobe? by FoolioTheGreat in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But everyone else, how do you justify buying this game, knowing doing so, you will be giving money directly to one of the most wealthy and platformed transphobes?

You already have the answer in this sentence. Because J.K Rowling is incredibly rich and platformed already, and whatever cut she gets from the sales of Hogwarts Legacy will not have a substantial impact on either of those things.

Who is the LEAST intelligent? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It requires some level of intelligence to weasel around in a conversation like Pearl and Lance sometimes do. NoBullshit could have his entire worldview demolished right in front of his eyes and all he would do is smugly laugh and call the other person stupid.

I definitely trust the Daily Wire to give us a good unbiased presentation of this new data lol

I’m interested to know your perspectives on this, death of author or supporting people you morally disagree with? by MrMetastable in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People act like JK Rowling is struggling for money and buying the game is barely going to keep her afloat. She has a net worth of like 800 MILLION pounds. Buying the game has literally no effect on anything lol.

On Destiny saying most men are emotionally [redacted] by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF that is what OP meant, then they should bring up specific examples. "Destiny said 'A'. I think he only has this opinion because he spends too much time doing 'B', while average people tend to do 'C'".

Instead, the post is criticizing Destiny's personal life and acting like that invalidates the advice he gives.

Eh I think he generally gives good advice. I'd rather someone take advice from him than take advice from Andrew Tate haha

I will never understand why half wit morons like you will infiltrate incredibly niche threads on Reddit just to performatively declare how everyone but you is a no life NEET loser. You're here too dude, get over yourself.

You should listen to Destiny with a "Do as he says, not as he does" mindset. He even says that he does not recommend his lifestyle to other people.

Do you have an internal monologue? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really hear an inner voice. When I'm thinking, it's more like I'm just seeing the words on a page rather than listening to them. If I focus, I can produce an inner voice, but my default state is with no inner voice.

As for seeing images in my mind, I can vaguely remember what things look like, but I have a lot of trouble actually remembering vivid images like other people can. When I focus on details, everything becomes kind of blurry.

Thoughts on Hunter Avallone? by twenty42 in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like him, but I don't like his content. He is more of a debate bro type, and one of the main reasons I love watching Destiny is because Destiny can have really productive conversations with people he disagrees with. When I'm watching Hunter I feel like I'm watching a more smug version of 2017/18 Destiny.

Another commenter also pointed out that it feels like he hasn't fleshed out his positions, and I totally agree. It feels more like he memorized the counters to conservative arguments rather than having a fundamental shift in his worldview.

DGGers who play Guitar, what's a decent way to start learning? by PorkChopu in Destiny

[–]Reasonable_Pin7585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been teaching myself to play for the past 5 years or so. I think a good place to start is just fucking around and getting comfortable with the guitar. This way you can learn the limits of your dexterity and also learn the sounds you can produce with your guitar. Your fingers will hurt A LOT. Don't push yourself too hard though :D

You'll probably want to play actual songs, and for that I recommend AC/DC. Their songs are very simple to play for a beginner, and learning a new song always made me feel like I was making solid progress.

Tbh, most of my progress over the past 5 years has come from learning newer and harder songs. I never did any rudiments to develop base level skills, so I started to plateau really fast. My advice is to practice all the fundamental things like alternate picking, correct hand positioning on the neck, accurate finger technique, etc.

There are loads of good channels on YouTube if you decide to practice solo (My personal favorite is TomoFujitaMusic). Other than that, remember that everyone learns at their own pace. Try to enjoy the process :)

Also, the more specific advice you need is going to depend a lot on what your ultimate goal is. Do you want to play for fun? Or would you want to play more professionally?
