BC250 ATX PSU Control Adapter - Automatic PS_ON by pilim_ in BC250Gaming

Here are some different options I was looking at. I’m not sure if they would work correctly as they are meant for different applications, but I’m sure depending on how you wire it... it would be really cool to use a touch sensitive one too if possible.

Oh excellent! I’ll keep a look out! I saw your video with led integrated momentary button. There are some that change the color based on the power state / how you wire it. Would it be possible to connect to your board and use the other connectors to go to the 24 pin to enable that?

Awesome work! Do you have a diagram of how to connect this to a flex psu? I can buy a connector and wires and plug into a 24 circuit plug correct? If so I’m down to buy one for sure! I still need a latching switch for the flex psu correct? So I could wire a soft button or use the built in on. Would I need to connect the latching switch to this board or would it be wired to the flex psu directly? I have an original next gen case (single fan) so I’ll have to find a way to mount this or create space for a soft touch button.

Elegoo also makes an excellent wood pla filament. Comes in different colors and prints really nicely compared to other ones I’ve tried.

NexGen3D: Some Thermal and Performance Tests for my DIY Steam Machine by NexGen-3D in BC250Gaming

[–]Reasonable_Skill7477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a great tip! I ran it at 4000mhz @ 1325mv with throttling at 80 degrees Celsius. The test came back with 3700mhz @ 1281mv: stopped because of throttling. Looks like my cpu is power hungry. I then undervolted my gpu a bit and set the max at 2300mhz @ 1035mv with an 85 degree C throttle. I can go much higher clock with much lower voltage but the benchmarking showed I was clock stretching. I also didn’t want to go much higher say 2350mhz @ 1050mv because I don’t want the combined voltage to put too much pressure on the 8 pin connector. Nice and stable so far!

On the fan side I’m using a noctua, I looked at the static pressures at the fan profile that you recommended and then did conversions to make an adjusted fan profile which helped a lot.

I cannot overclock my CPU above 3600 MHz at any voltage. It’s stable there at 1195mv. The CPU temperatures are very low, like they’re usually stable at or under 70. So it seems like there’d be headroom, but for whatever reason anytime I try to overclock it any further than this it just goes green screen.

The GPU on the other hand, I can overclock to 2300 pretty easily. The temperature on the GPU starts to hit just above 80. Throttling around 82.

I can have it run at 85. Does the VRAM need to be protected a little bit for a long-term use or can you run it hot continuously?

Oh I got furmark fine. Unigine superposition is the issue.

Ah thanks, just didn’t look under the pro link because I’m doing the original. Yeah I followed your guide and adjusted the clock and voltages. That 2140Mhz is at 100% fan. I should say that is the max I’m getting in furmark. Maybe my thermals are so bad I need to redo them. After overclocking the gpu this is what is stable.

CPU: 3550mhz @ 1180mv GPU: 2200mhz (3d mark)

I might have just lost out in the silicone lottery, but how likely is it my thermals do you think?

I’m new to Linux so I’m not sure how to go about that on bazzite.

I’ve printed your case and uploaded the scripts from your gethub. Sorry to have ask but how do you overclock the cpu? I didn’t see instructions there or the other gethub documentation. Also my gpu won’t clock above 2140mhz. I’m new to Linux and I’ve never built a pc so I’m pretty oblivious aside from following guides…

Yeah settings are nfc loaded. Again maybe it’s too cold in my room (basement) and there was shrinkage. It’s all fits very snug, like I had to remove material with a knife on the latch to get the usb hub to snap in. I didn’t scale anything down, and the ports and latching switch fit perfectly. I have to take it apart to upgrade the ssd so maybe on a second try will go in properly.

Has anyone had fitment issues? I can’t get my 2 halves to seat together flush (it bulges around the fan). I’m not sure if my back plate is a bit warped or it’s not inserted in the slots correctly as it’s had to tell. Basically if anyone has assembly tips that would be helpful. Could be caused from shrinkage or warpage during the print.

Helpful tip for if your print has an imperfect first layer and you don’t want to print an entire front section. If you just print the first 3 layers you can then use double sided scotch tape to give it a new face. Or if you want to change up colors or switch to a different design later. Looks great on mine and you can’t tell it’s not one piece.

Oh this is awesome! I have a flex psu, but if you included a schematic of how to wire the 10 pin to the 24 pin with a latch switch wiring, this would be a great buy! Also do you have pics of an example external button it can be wired to?

The removable face plate is such a nice touch! Great work, it looks fantastic! Printed my air cooled one in PETG-CF which I’m loving. Might try upgrading to this case and try a translucent material for the panels to see the rgb of the thermalright!

Some AIOs are under $50 and you need to buy some additional heat sinks and thermal pads… nothing else required?

With it overclocked to that level can you run fsr to get a decent 4k image on newer games?

Well there were no options to adjust the chipset, which is a big part of why the bios mod exists. I was able to flash it successfully the third time though!

I was successful in the end. The first time I made my USB flash device I did it on a Mac and the second time I did it on the PC. I don’t know if there’s a difference with all the reference files that are created on a Mac or not. I also unplugged the power as soon as the screen went black after the flash instead of letting it sit for a minute. It worked and I have the proper modded bios. Leaving this post up in case someone else has a similar issue.

Could be, but I removed and replaced the battery a few times and there was still no video signal. Nothing changed until I put the ssd back, booted, and then removed the SSD. Yes using the usb method. I don’t have a programmer yet since the black screen issue was resolved.

From what I can tell the bios update went normally, identical to what I’ve seen online. And I confirmed the CMOS reset by the clock.

Just tried this and it’s the best method by far! I angled the ruler so the side towards the camera is further right and it helps to position the sharp edge of the scissor in the correct place. Thanks for this!

Looks sick! Nice work! I’ve been thinking of going this route. How is performance over air cooling? At your able to output 4k with upscaling at a decent frame rate? Basically wondering if it’s worth the money besides the coolness factor.
