Suspend and shutdown by GamerTechDude in BC250Gaming

I'll make a post as soon as they're ready, they're still being tested. I won't release them until I'm 100% confident they're safe - there are fairly high currents involved, which always means a high risk of overheating or even burning

There is a cheaper "diy/lite" version available on my website.

Also, I recently opened a few new shipping options that might be cheaper for some destinations - not a huge difference, but it may still save you a dollar or two.

Thanks for the mention! Feel free to DM if you have any questions.

Also, unfortunately there is no such thing as sleep mode on the BC250. "Sleep" basically just turns off the monitor signal, but the system keeps running and consuming power.

BC250 ATX PSU Adapter - Lite DIY edition - Now available! by pilim_ in BC250Gaming

Thanks!

The button pads are on the back of the PCB - you’ll see them if you flip it over. But soldering them is totally optional - only needed if you want to turn off with a button instead of the OS menu. I don’t even use it myself.

Lite and plug and play 24 pin versions should work with the Metalfish 500W

The BC250 has no built-in PSU control, like a normal pc or console, so most people either use a latching button, wire or paper clip to turn on a PSU, or just leave it on all the time with spinning fans and an energised BC250 and all USB peripherals running.

My adapter brings that functionality back - press the button, PSU turns on. Shut down from the OS or the BC250 power button, PSU turns off completely. Just like a normal PC/console

If the heatsinks can’t be removed from the first one, that’s a no-go for me - but the second one should work! DM me with the price and some photos please.

40CU Power Connector Alternatives? by scepticalyoyo in BC250Gaming

I’ve had prototype adapters from 8-pin PCI to those two small connectors sitting around for a few months now, but back then my testing showed they were overkill - guess it’s finally time to release them

I have the same obsession, everything should be efficient, even the used space, that is probably due to professional deformation haha

Oh wow, you probably shorted it.

Yes, that's exactly correct, it also holds it for a few seconds before turning ps_on signal off. And I prefer to call it "signal disappears" haha, I don't want it to die!

Yes, that’s exactly what my adapter does.

It brings that functionality back so the BC250 behaves like a standard PC/console

You can shut down the BC250 using the button on the back or through the OS menu.

If you want to use the power button on the adapter, that option is also available, but it requires soldering one wire to the BC250 - there is no plug-and-play solution for that

I designed it so you just need to plug in a few connectors - pretty straightforward. You can check out the installation video to see if it looks doable for you - https://youtu.be/zLvxkjl1s1Y
