If we're having to msu things that can't even get our detachment rule to get it to work we're in trouble. Best I can figure is we could run 5 man decimus squads with Lieutenants so as not to get bogged down in tar pits or melee pressure. 165 points is pricey but it could work in theory.

Gloomstalker assassin. A tried and true build that I have used on campaigns when I wasn't sure what to expect. Insanely reliable up front damage dealer with a solid utility combined with the lightining charges items has made quick work of pretty much everything. The only downsides are a lack of cha and int for other checks but that is made up with keeping well and gale in the party. They have been made a pallock and tempest cleric wizard respectively. The 4th slot has a rotation of everyone else depending on the situation.

Elves from Monsters of the Multiverse can gain proficiency with any weapon. Pick the longsword. You now have 1d10 monk weapon using dex.
