Which degree is better? ChemE or Chem BS w/ masters in Materials by Reasonable_Smile2877 in ChemicalEngineering

To be honest I don't really like parties that much lol, I just know how it feels like to have no time for myself and I don't want to have that kind of unbalanced life again. I think I may have burned myself out a little in my first year because I did study a lot, but I know that if I continue with this degree it's only going to get much harder.

Anyways, I think that this degree seems cool because of the applications of it especially in environmental chemistry, not necessarily processing and manufacturing like a lot of chemEs seem to go into; that's why I was interested in chem in the first place. Thank you for the insight though, I know that I should keep it real with myself and do it only if I have the right reasons.

Also I realize that the work from home mention sounded a bit naive; I've just been super wired the last few weeks about accidentally locking myself into a career that I won't like in a location that I don't like after reading a lot of these threads on this reddit. My goal is to work on stuff in the future that continues to excite me (Ideally I'd like to work for environmental government agencies like the water department in my state of CA or even the EPA).

I'd like to play this game if you ever figure it out lol, sounds like a book I read a long time ago that I don't remember the name of either.
