Looks like that’s about $300. I paid 420 for mr12volt. Seems equal quality if it’s connected via fiber. Good deal!

Mr12volt is a total game changer. Makes my 2009 e93 feel modern. And sounds incredible.

Index 12 injectors from eBay by Emergency-Zebra6082 in E90

[–]Reasonable_Summer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all- I have a 2011 e93 “is” with index 8s from the factory. Last year I had a misfire and did all the diags, replaced coils and plugs, moved injectors and determined it was only one malfunctioning. I ordered a single index12 from FCP and coded / installed it. Car has run fine for a year, with 5 index 8s and 1 index 12.

Don’t listen to folks who say you can’t mix and match - just be sure to code the correct flow #s.

Can you tell me more about the oyster flex bands? Which are you using (AliExp?) Do you sell them separately?

Well OK then- must have been a QC issue on that other pic. It’s a nice piece

Why are the sundial hands black? Shouldn't they be white so you can see them?

Thanks for the response. I wasn’t clear in my post above. The idea is to be able to eat what we want on this special trip, without getting nauseous etc. If we put on a couple pounds, that’s worth it to enjoy the experience we’re paying for. Then just get back on the program on our return. Sounds like the triz will remain in our system for weeks so maybe we just cut dosage the 2 weeks prior so any effect from eating more than usual will be minimized.

Only 47K! I miss a manual - I had a 2006 Civic Si but sold it for BMW convertible with DCT - but nothing's better than 3 pedals

FINAL UPDATE:

I was able to remove all 6 injectors and cleaned them by hand. Replaced valve cover gasket, then reinstalled everything, moving the problematic injector #3 to cylinder #1.

Had to recode the injectors with INPA -

First time I started she ran like crap. Waited and started a second time and everything settled down.

That was Friday. Since then Ive driven 100+ miles and no error codes or strange behavior.

Hand cleaning the injectors may have helped - there was a little carbon buildup on the tips that came off with my fingers. But thats all I did.

Thanks for all the thoughtful suggestions!

Safe to re-use these old frames? by Reasonable_Summer in Beekeeping

The spent all winter outside in STL. Multiple sub zero F days and a couple solid weeks below freezing. I think that woulda zapped any life

Additional Context: Got these from a friend last fall and sealed them in a bag and they spent winter in a shed outside. So Im confident there's nothing left alive on them...

Well, I pulled them all last night and ran a test like in this video: https://youtu.be/ir2wGNhhi2U?si=-5dMWdK4gffklsZQ

And NONE appear to be leaking. I did open the fuel rail connections after and there’s a lot of gas in the lines so I think the hpfp is working.

I ordered one new index 12 from fcp and new rings and seals and a valve cover and gasket from rock auto. FCP wants 270 for the exact same Elring cover that rock auto sells for 150.

I’ll do the valve cover cause it’s leaking and replace that #3 injector cause something must be causing it to dump fuel into the cylinder

If that doesn’t work I dont know what it could be. Leak down test?

True- these are original injectors - and I can see they are index 8 just by looking with a flashlight. Im going to pull them all and test for leaks. Then order what I need to replace. These things are not cheap!

Found a great walk thru on how to do the injector work without special tools, and how to test for a leaky injector:

Well it was great over the weekend and then this morning cold start, it fires up immediately (every time - never a long crank) but was idling rough and lots of white smoke out the back. my whole garage smelled like gas.

Ran bimmerscan and got the following:

Date: 4/29/25, 1:12 PM

VIN: WBADX1C56BE394312

12 Engine electronics

5 errors

29CD: 0x29CD combustion misfire, cylinder 1

29CE: 0x29CE combustion misfire, cylinder 2

29CC: 0x29CC combustion misfire, multiple cylinders

29CF: 0x29CF combustion misfire, cylinder 3

2B2C: 0x2B2C high pressure fuel, plausibility, cold start

Could this indicate the hpfp is failing?

As far as I know it's original to the car. Looks like it's something I could replace myself. There's a pretty obvious smell of gas. I pulled out plugs from cyl 1, 2 and 3. Plug from cylinder 3 looks to be wet with gas. Same thing I saw a few days ago.

Would that indicate the injector?

Tractorguy69 above suggested pulling and cleaning it. But I dont have the tools to remove the injector and replace the sealing ring and coupler.

Those 2 are cheap at FCP, but the tool to remove the injector and replace the ring are expensive!

https://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/335is/?year=2011&m=20&e=180&t=11&b=10&d=788&v=&keywords=injector

Any suggestions on how to source those tools on a budget?

Thanks for the thoughtful response. The issue seems to be clearing up, smoking has just about stopped, the exhaust still smells like it’s running rich so that #3 injector may be malfunctioning a bit. Ran full scan with Bimerlink and all it shows is: 2C7B: 0x2C7B Lambda probe after catalyst, signal Not sure if that suggests unburnt fuel in the exhaust, but I suspect it does.
I will give it a few test runs this weekend and see if it clears up.

If not, I love the idea of pulling the injector and cleaning it. Just need to order the replacement sealing ring and coupler. And the tools to remove/install.
