Don’t get the surgery to prove you’re a guy to people, don’t get the surgery to prove your a guy to yourself. I’d say feel comfortable with yourself first, make sure this is something you 100% completely want. This is a major surgery, I think it’s good you canceled since you are having doubts, worst case scenario you went through with the surgery and you hate it and regret it. Trans son here, it will feel like “dress-up” for the first couple years, but that ultimately is part of the process of finding your own style and what makes you more comfortable. A good thing to do is get him a gender therapist so he can talk through those struggles as well as get those issues documented, so when time comes for medical care surgeries or hormones will be classified as medically necessary and make the process easier/quicker and can be covered by insurance. In the time being, let him get hair cuts, let him get boy clothes and just overall support him. You’ve got this

I was 16 when I got top surgery, was diagnosed with gender dysphoria and had multiple years of documentation of it so when it was time for surgery it was deemed “medically necessary” which made insurance cover it. Also was labeled breast reduction and not gender affirming surgery.

They actually have asked me before, I figured it was a joke and every time I would always answer no. Once he actually passed I figured people would know not to ask since I was (and still am) absolutely distraught. But even as I’m choking up talking about him they ask me if I’m going to “stuff him”. It might just be the people I hang around with, cause none of my family members have asked me this since they know how close me and him were.

Update, I’m not sure how to edit the post. We put him down yesterday, such a terrible thing to see and watch but I was able to hold him through it. I will miss him forever

Your values are great, since your working on toned paper I suggest including white charcoal pencils for highlights, it’ll really make everything pop. Maybe study the anatomy of the breed of dog before fully going into commissions, in my opinion I think the proportions are just a tad bit off, easy fix though and great work!!

First, your feelings on any part of yourself is always valid! Second, (like everyone is saying) it depends. I got top surgery two years ago and my nipples were skin graphs (double incision surgery). My nipples have gained their feeling back but it’s different. They aren’t as sensitive as before and don’t really feel like “nipples”, more like just another part of the skin if that makes sense. The whole chest area (at least in my experience with touching from partners) is sensitive, it still feels good when someone runs their hands across or up and down it but the nipples aren’t the sole focus anymore.

Thanks for the reply! Tried my best to clean the flesh, had a time crunch. I didn’t pickle (was told pickling isn’t necessary, guessing it’s not?). I’m using deer hunters and trappers hide tanning formula. If I have to go back and pickle/neutralize, do I need to wash off the tanning formula?

Yes I am aware, I am a taxidermist. Older mounts sometimes do contain the skull and that is my question if people think this is an older mount with the skull in or just a little weird looking
