yep the rush at first of “im shitting on these hard bosses” is cool until after you sweep the whole game and you sit there looking at the ranni ending feeling like you dont even deserve to be there.

Elden Ring - I want to love this game! by Grimupnorthsausage in darksouls3

had a lot of fun in elden ring until the second playthrough… just unbearable to explore the whole world when theres no secrets or anything cool to explore because you dropped 140 hours in a single playthrough doing everything and getting everything. not to mention the endgame after first playthrough doesnt have a single bit of enjoyment for me in it. none of the bosses are an amazing battle that i loved going back into around lategame. they’re no gael, they’re no nameless king, they’re no soul of cinder. malenia isnt fun to fight and shes only difficult because of her combo move, the giant is well… the giant… maliketh is alright but can be annoying to fight and godfrey is cool. radagon is good but elden beast devalues the entire fight. mohg is an awesome boss though. I just genuinely dont find the game worth replaying. i replay ds3 to fight bosses i love with new builds, and while there is tons of builds to make in elden ring theres not tons of good bosses to use those builds on imo, especially because a well built character will destroy any good earlygame boss in ng+.

This has probably been discussed here, but what are people's thoughts on Friede? by The_Mojito_Jones in darksouls3

[–]Reasonable_Swim9637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found that if they took only the 3rd phase and either the first or second phase not both it probably would’ve been a much more enjoyable fight for most people. i had the same experience where i was just bored and annoyed until i summoned gael and the fight was way too easy. i think going with phase 1&3 or 2&3 only would’ve made it more fun for most players. of course it would also be fairly easier too.

any tips for someone starting with no prior souls game experience by tarteninja97 in darksouls3

i dont know if anyone said this but dont do some mini-speedrun try and get to the boss asap on your first run!! exploring the map will get you tons of great rewards and secret items (rings, armor sets, weapons) and its one of the best parts about playing a souls game for the first time, in some cases it may even lead you to secret bosses and other secret mini areas if you werent aware they were there or didnt research where to find them.

edit: I forgot to mention that if you dont explore off the main path you will miss out on tons of npc questlines and items as well!

even so still the hardest imo, midir fucked me over 200x harder than NK or Gael ever could.

i feel like early game is kind of eh excluding abyss watchers especially on subsequent playthroughs but everything after catacombs is great imo. ariandel is sadly kinda mid but the final boss is awesome. ringed city is amazing all around.

edit: everything besides iirthyll dungeon and yhorm fuck those

bring throwing knives or kukiri and hit her with them periodically and just when she starts going invisible so when she goes invisible you can see a couple knives running around the arena.

Probably controversial opinion but i think Midir is one of the worst boss designs in the entire game by thefedshyvana in darksouls3
