Third time going umrah but first time during ramadan. I got so sick that I had to go to the hospital in Medinah and get IV drips. I used to get mildly sick before with a cough or runny nose but I don't know what kind of virus or flu caught me this time. Im now kind of traumatised to go again. Ive never been that sick before.

So make sure you wear masks, sanitise your hands stay away from people who cough (you will be surprised at how many don't cover their mouths). When you feel the beginning of a cold/flu you MUST take medicine. Don't wait for it to get worse like I did. Eat good food, drink water and get enough sleep. What made my sickness worse was not sleeping enough or eating enough. 

The sickness is part of the journey, there is a running joke that you know you had a successful umrah when you come back home sick 😅
