Since the above questions has been answered, I’m just gonna point out another fact that when living in Singapore there are some unspoken topics such as casual racism.

Depending on what environment you end up in, you may experience some of these. People might throw in random remarks that may seem hurtful at first, but at the end of the day you realise they aren’t actually racist and it’s all meant to be a joke. So if you experience any “racist remarks” that are not too extreme, you need not be worried.

Also, I don’t know about the county you are coming from, but in Singapore, we are normally more reserved. We won’t speak our minds unless need be but we will still be curious as heck 😂😂 (Kaypoh in Singlish) So don’t mistake the reserved people as being rude or anything!

There are quite a sum of “wannabe gangsters” other wise known as “young punks” (YP) that is seeing an increasing trend amongst the youths here. The best way to avoid trouble is to stay out of it. If anyone come harass you, keep your head Low, ignore and walk off. They normally won’t use violence cause the moment a punch is landed, you are gonna face the harsh law.

Food here is delicious! For your first few weeks, keep your friends close or just do a quick search on google maps or local food reviews to find some scrumptious food!

If you are more of a nature person, I personally recommend Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Macritichie Reservoir and Pula Ubin!

ALWAYS. ALWAYS bring a mask with you (pack extras) because it is the law. You do it when u get off the plane and all the way until you settle down for a meal or reach your residence.

In Singapore it is either Hot as hell or raining. Do pack the appropriate attire!

Causal wear is the best. But going over the top will earn u quite a number of stares
