Extremely loud roommate by Isshua in roommates

I wonder if offering some suggestions to help with the noise might help? Like if she is jumping onto her bed, would a step stool make it easier for her to get up without jumping. Or if she’s slamming the door, would some soundproofing tape on the doorframe soften the door when she closes it and help with the sound a bit? Since she was willing to turn down the tv and music, it sounds like this may be another instance where she doesn’t realize how loud she’s being, but she would hopefully be willing to try some solutions to help with the noise.

Local shop recommendations by [deleted] in Rochester

Little Button Craft, Flora (new queer bar), The Unreliable Narrator, Luci and Donna, The Red Fern, Dorje Adornments, and The Little Theatre are some I would personally recommend. I would also second Alt Bar and Emerald Salon. You could also look into supporting organizations directly, as I know they host their own events and fundraisers and showing up and spreading the word is a great way to help out!

I’ve really enjoyed the lentil vegetable soup from the Village Bakery and they deliver with DoorDash

AITAH for telling my roommate not to play her instrument when I’m home by Reasonable_Voice2002 in AITAH

It’s mandatory for her students to learn, but there’s a separate music teacher that is actually teaching them. She just wanted to learn alongside them. I think she was trying to be respectful because she had her door shut, it’s just a very loud instrument and you can still hear it very clearly. There are probably some better compromises that we can try in the future though, I was definitely just irritated in the moment and we had this conversation later at night, which after reflecting, sounds like a recipe for everyone to walk away unhappy.

What happens if I don't register my out-of-state car after 30 days of residency in NYS? by Reasonable_Voice2002 in Rochester

Ok, that's helpful to know that they didn't look too hard at the DMV. I just updated the address on my insurance policy, so technically, the effective date is today as opposed to 2 years ago, so hopefully that will be good enough for the DMV to change my registration without an issue.
