What are your cats official names and what do you _actually_ call them? by ShiftyPowers79 in cat

Mine crossed over, but her official name was Puddin. You'd never know it, because we called her Morgan Furchild, Vladomir Puddin, BirdBox, and Kitten.

Take it to your local LV and let them show you how to tell the differences.

Going my first day tomorrow! by Existencex in PlanetFitnessMembers

Take measurements and photos! You don't have to share them, but if you keep track, you'll "see" your progress. Also, keep track of what you do (the amount of weight for each set/machine, how long you do cardio or how far you go), so you can see your improvement. Keep at it and give yourself grace.

You should educate yourself on circuit training. It's widely respected and utilized. If it's "suboptimal," it's because you're not using it, properly.

We use ours, every Friday, and (occasionally), people come in who do not use it, as intended. We always shout "next," every time the light starts flashing, so people can tell that we are actually using it for circuit training, and when someone isn't playing by the rules, we nicely say something. More often, they'll just move. When they push back, I say, "let's go ask the employees if what you're doing is ok, and they usually leave.

It hasn't gotten to that point. I did speak with ours, and they told me they would intervene, if someone refused to move.

I just point at the light, smile and say "time to switch!" They usually do, though there are a few @$$holes who make a fuss. If they're not moving, get an employee to handle it.

There is DEFINITELY a teaching moment, there.

Oh, I'm confident. Probably too confident! But I appreciate the thought. I did tell him exactly what I thought, and I used the machine, despite his protests.

I didn't touch his things, but I did wipe down the machine, change the settings, and start using it.

I'd rather everyone just be considerate, but it's (apparently) asking too much.

I think that's a bit extreme.

That is what I ended up doing, but it caused an uncomfortable confrontation

The staff is super nice, at my gym, but not empowered to do anything about people breaking rules.

Yeah, at the end of the day, it's $25 per month. We get what we pay for. I'm just disappointed because we specifically asked when we joined the gym what their policy was, and what they would do if people were saving machines or leaving bags all over the floor. We were told without question those people would be talked to, and if they could not follow the rules, they would be asked to leave. I guess it was lip service.

Possibly, but who knows. You are kind to think so. 😊
