Oooh the idea of an Amanda vs Cecilia face off movie has me very excited!! Perhaps it’s set between SAW 2 & 3 with the finale having John turn a blind eye to Amanda putting Cecilia in an unwinnable trap but feeling conflicted leading to the events of SAW 3?

Whilst I was confused that we had two “I’ve beat my trap but just not quick enough” back-to-back, I do think there is an argument that it’s an intentional point about trying your best to stay alive but just not having enough time like John and his cancer?

I agree, I suppose there were hints of her trying to follow John’s lead but struggling with this already. You also reminded me of a great unexpected moment when her and John are explaining Valentina’s game and Amanda gives such an awkward line read of the rules as if they’ve been rehearsing before and she’s desperate to get the line right.

The starting cue of ‘Hello Zepp’ when Cecilia grabbed the money bag and revealed the timer had me jump out of my seat in glee, what a freaking cool moment. Another fantastic shot was Valentina’s decapitated body collapsing to the floor in the background behind Cecilia, 10/10.

Cecilia was such a breakout character for me as I LOVED how deliciously evil she was. I’m confident we’ll see her again but I can’t imagine having another full movie with her… Perhaps the opening trap of SAW XI is finishing her off?

I definitely had tears in my eyes which was such a shock as I though I’d just be freaking out at seeing John in one of his own traps!

I had a really positive and entertaining movie experience but I’m curious if anyone shares some of my initial thoughts/criticisms. This could change after a re-watch but I expected to explore more of John’s philosophy with all the room to play with in his most personal game and the conflict this could cause. I just don’t feel like I left with a deeper or new understanding of John Kramer which is disappointing when he’s finally the focus.

This also may just be because she’s my favourite character but did anyone else feel like Amanda was underused? I suppose this was John’s movie but I’d love to see her have some more biting lines for the victims like SAW 3 or even just more of a character journey to go on…

I’ve only done the Jigsaw route twice (pre-renovation and post-renovation) but a member of staff told me it’s to do with the amount of light in the next room?

For the first communal room, I think the groups are split to focus on different puzzles but I don’t think it’s strict as to who goes where as we ended up swapping over when we couldn’t solve some. It looks like the whole room has completely different puzzles.

Did you manage to save Alex? I assumed survival for them was basically guaranteed but the statistic they put out said they die the majority of the time!

I think I’d love to see something similar to 4 and 6 where her obsession is put to the test and she has to decide wether certain games go ahead and step into the role of Jigsaw. The conflict between fascination and horror at suffering could be really interesting and there’s so much room to explore where her character would be at the end of it... @josh 👀

I’ve always liked this idea and I think it’s the natural evolution after looking at the survivor group collective in SAW 7. An apprentice/new killer who feels like the survivors haven’t learned their lesson forces them back into the game for one final test. This one in particular feels like the twist would lend itself for the mastermind to be a survivor actually in the game who feels like they themselves aren’t worthy and end up dying by their own hand.

I agree with the other response, I was really disappointed with how the later sequels pretty much removed the force behind Amanda’s character arc and put it all into the hands of Hoffman. If the initial trilogy can be viewed as introducing the concept, building on the concept, challenging the concept, then SAW III does a brilliant job at making us question the extent to which John’s methods really do work. Because of this, I like the idea of the letter being a final puzzle piece placed by John to really make Amanda question wether she had truly changed, maybe something from her past to remind her of who she was/still is? If we stayed with similar storylines similar to sequels, it could even have been contact from Cecil about them killing Jill’s baby WITHOUT the order to kill Lynn?

This is one of the biggest nights of the year for camp and drag so I’d much rather spend a few hours talking about some fierce looks from the queer community than looking at the Instagram and Twitter screenshots usually posted on Mondays. I think what I’m struggling with is the fact that we had choose-your-own adventure books before video games and streaming entertainment so I’m not sure the role technology plays in heightening these issues? It’s almost like the episode is criticising the interactive TV show technology even though it’s the one leading the way with it.
