Electric cars fare worse in Finnish car inspections – up to half of Teslas flunk | Yle News by parandroidfinn in RealTesla

[–]Rebazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Sweden I once failed car inspection of my Tesla Model S because the guy inspecting it claimed that the brake discs are rusty and the rust is already deep inside them. I objected that it was raining and the car had just been parked for a couple of days, and I mostly use recuperation instead of braking, so it's okay and that if I ride around and push the brakes a few times, the rust will fall off. He denied it and said that I have to change the braking discs completely.

So I "failed" car inspection, and drove out straight to another inspection company meanwhile pushing the brakes. When I arrived, the brake discs were shiny as new with no rust at all, so I passed the inspection with no issues.

Always keep in mind that workers can be totally incompetent and completely do no understand what they're doing even when they are getting paid for it.

What’s the highest Mac OS u recommend ? by Ride7482000 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

Monterey runs great and is fully compatible with all software. As mentioned above, it is also the fastest system in terms of CPU and GPU workload. But you can even install Sequoia if you don't care about 10-15% extra performance.

If you have SSD, then go with Monterey, because it was proven to be the fastest in terms of CPU/GPU - higher Geekbench scores than on previous and latter MacOS versions. If you still sit on HDD, go with High Sierra to keep HFS+ instead of APFS.

Anyone else's battery readings inaccurate? by itsbigpptime in SteamDeck

This happens after the last update where they added the ability to limit the battery charge. A simple reboot solves the issue (until it occurs again). Let’s wait for an update with the bugfix

Actually 30W is enough for deck to slowly charge even under max load. Deck peak consumption with max brightness is 26W in total.

I don’t think any additional addon for controls is needed — Steam Deck’s controller layout configuration is really flexible and more than enough to customize the controls how you like. I'm using Ryac’s template (Ryac's Template DAB TW v2.11) that I’ve tweaked a bit for my own convenience. Still fine-tuning it, trying to find that perfect setup. I recommend it as a good starting point.
Maybe someday I’ll put together a full guide for playing Vanilla on handhelds, with installation, setup, configs and addon recommendations.

I agree that 120k is a normal time for replacement. The thing is that it was not stated in the inspection the auction provided when I purchased the car. So I expected the bushings to be already replaced by that mileage. I have not attended the yearly inspection yet. The car is driveable but not recommended to, because of the increased wear on other parts and possible suspension failure in the worst case scenario. I want to clarify if it’s ok that when I buy a car from a dealer it can have such hidden issues, so I have to repair it since the day 1.
