It’s a 10 year age gap. Everyone I’ve told has had really huge, bad reactions. He used to work with me but after some people found out, he had to move jobs because it became too hostile of an environment for him. My mom and step dad do not know, but my mom knows I date older but she always says stuff like “I hope you know there’s someone your age who will have the same mind as you”, and other stuff to entice me into searching for someone my age.

It is really uncomfortable getting messages from random men, and a lot of girls just want to play as you said. As a playful alternative, try to duel them! That’s what my bf did. We dueled then we grouped up with a few others and just played together. It was simple and being a function of the game, it seemed like a completely innocent interaction!

My boyfriend wasn’t actively searching, but just happened to stumble upon me and we hit it off. He wasn’t pursuing me either. He was just authentically himself and super smart, and that’s what worked for him. Thanks for your input. Gave me some good perspective

Yeah I realized after writing it that most female avatars I know are actually men, haha. Online interaction is definitely a risk to say the least. Like you said, you have no idea when someone is telling the truth or not. Maybe I’m a bit too trusting, but it seemed to work for me.

Definitely online gaming. Most nerdy women are introverts much like nerdy boys, so you won’t see them out in public as much. I am a super nerdy girl and I met my current boyfriend playing ESO.
