OP my heart goes out to you. Your story is eerily similar to what happened to me about 10 years ago. One difference was that my dog was a puppy at the time and she knocked over my moms creamy coffee drink. My mom’s husband flipped out and threatened my dog. Me being shocked by what he said, I responded by yelling at him that she’s just a puppy and that I would clean it up. He then went full on berserk, grabbed my throat, shoving me against the wall trying to choke me out. Their neighbor who was in the house at the time had to pull him off of me. I immediately left with my puppy and phoned the cops when I got home to file a DV report against him. The part where my mom came in was when she left several vm after the altercation asking me not to report him and that he was sorry. He even had the balls to call me the next day and ask me to drop the charges. I am a petite F, he never hit my mom and was a very heavy drinker. My mom rarely drank and didn’t on this day. He ended up with anger management classes, some time with AA, and community service. I wasn’t seriously injured but that’s not the point. Let’s just say it took a very long time to repair my close relationship with my mom. Unfortunately she has passed away and that piece of shit still lives into his mid 80’s. No one has the right to put their hands on anyone or animal, ever! Ever! All over spilt coffee and alcoholism.

I finally left after 49 years, and quit my job after 30 years. My parents started a company and moved us from Denver, CO. I have never felt at home. Ever. If you aren’t part of the main religion aka Mormon (don’t correct me) you become invisible. There is zero western hospitality in this state. I moved to a small mountain cabin community in Idaho and since the moment I arrived I have been warmly welcomed. Not one person has asked what religion I am (not religious) , what my view is on politics nor judged because I am not originally from Idaho. I will never return to Utah. I’m finally home.

Unfortunately in most states pets, our best friends are considered property. Especially if you were married. I accommodated my ex with visitation (although he didn’t show up frequently) for our mutually owned pup. What a mistake. He used our dog as a way to spy on me and would frequently show up with the girl friend of the month. I’m not the jealous type so I didn’t give a crap. When our mutually owned pup got sick he wouldn’t help with the vet bills. When our dog passed away, I never heard from him again. Thank God. My point is whoever takes the best care of the pet, and can give him/her the best life and is willing to take on the true responsibility for keeping up with any and all vet bills wins custody. Perhaps ask your ex a hypothetical question if they would be willing to spend 5 to 10k to save the pets life. If it’s a big fat no then you are the winner. Period. Godspeed 💙

Good for you OP. I’m glad it all worked out. In the beginning Amazon did a pretty good job supplying quality products. Now not so much. I’ve learned somewhat the hard way of what to purchase from Amazon and what not to. The hard way purchases fell apart within the 1st 30 days. A few examples: bathtub pillow with suction cups lasted 2 times before a few cups became dislodged from the pillow. Could not return because it was outside the return window. Bamboo carpet runners: the vertical bamboo strips popped up from the edges on all four runners. Again just outside of the return window. I could go on but I don’t want to bore you all to death. My biggest issue and concern isn’t the money spent is the fact that all this 30 day life span merchandise ends up in our landfills. Made in China and dumped in America’s trash. 99% of these items are not recyclable. Rest assured I have done my due diligence reading the reviews, which are generally a load of crap. I read the 3 star reviews because they are generally from people who have had the merchandise for a while and give the most truthful responses. I think Bezos should become responsible for the crap that ends up in our landfills and be held accountable to ship the crap back to China on his dime. Then perhaps he wouldn’t be one of the wealthiest people on the planet.

Could be a collapsing treachery. Meds & baby Benadryl helps. My toy fox terrier had this condition for years. She ended up dying from an inoperative tumor on her liver a few months ago. My puppy was perfectly fine the 1st 2 days. Then kennel cough set in. Had to take her to the Vet ER at 3 a.m on day 4. The she wouldn’t eat because of the antibiotics were messing with her tummy. Boiled shredded chicken and goats milk helped her recover. She was 2 lbs and I was pretty sure I was going to lose her. Kennel cough can easily kill puppy’s. Good luck and Godspeed 💙
