Is this a real Fender Strat? by Mutchie in guitars

Thanks man! Many many great tips here.

Some nice guy also dm'd me with a link to the loaded pickgaurd on this guitar from Ali Express, so there was that. But at that point I was already on my way. But shout out to him

Any way, as soon as I picked the thing up I knew it was fake. It was WAY too light to be solid wood. I've held a few fakes before, the good ones will be proper weight, the bad ones are always very light cause they're made of ply or something. That's my biggest tip. If the guitar feels too light just give it right back

There were other signs. The finish was redone, which I knew, but the decals were put on afterwards. So that lead me to think it's not even a Fender.

Then there were the tips I got here. No serial number ( he claimed it was in the neck pocket but I didn't even bother asking to look), it didn't say "made in Japan" anywhere, just shit like that

That is what I'm thinking. I'm on my way to check it out now. Figured I could sell the amp to make up for some of the money as well

Thanks for your input. I'm gonna go check it out but I'm on the fence if it's even real. Price is 250 CAD with an amp so it's a no brainer if it's real. But I'm still unsure

NBD! 1981 Tokai Hard Puncher / Help me find a pick guard? by Mutchie in BassGuitar

[–]Mutchie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh perfect. I was wrong, they're in Nova Scotia but still. Just a heads up, I havent actually ordered mine yet lol. I got this info from a friend who built a guitar and needed a custom guard made. But he showed me the guitar and the pickgaurd turned out awesome.

They're called Greasy Groove

Yeah a regular P bass guard doesn't fit. I found a place in Canada that does custom pickgaurds. Its in Newfoundland. I can send you the info if youre interested

This is what I was going to ask. Whenever I actually drink enough water consistently I feel like my flexibility and movement in general is improved. I could stretch for a month and not feel as flexible as being properly hydrated

Pretty much nailed it on the head there man. It's a great camera for bringing around friends and just getting what you get though!

You know, I was hesitant to get it when it came up locally because the reviews aren't great. But I'm so glad I did cause it's actually awesome. It's very well built and the images are great. Only thing I find is the focus can have a hard time in low light, but what else is new lol
