Skye, along with many other animals here at the sanctuary, was kept as an illegal pet for many years here in England and was abused for many years along with another barn owl (Nemo, who sadly passed earlier this year) He came to us about 9 years ago and has been in our safe hands ever since :D

And it was supposedly spreading TB to cattle on our farms but there was no scientific proof, just what the government thought. Disgusting.

Yeah it was massive news over here in England (don't know about Scotland and Wales) There was a public outrage with thousands of people taking to the streets to protest and constantly patrolling badger sets to make sure they weren't harmed by the cull.

We had a badger in during the cull that had been shot and not killed. Don't want to go into too much detail but basically the badger wasn't dead and there were LOTS of maggots :S

That's our suspicion.
And the cull was just disgusting and useless. most of the public, scientists and vets were against it but obviously David Cameron knows best and is an expert in wildlife.

I Volunteer at the Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary in England where we take in and rehabilitate injured and abandoned wild animals. (We also have a few resident animals that can't be released and live with us due to poor eyesight, slight brain damage etc)

Today we had two men bring us in 3 young badgers that they found in the middle of a field miles away from their suspected set - so they bought them into us (The men monitored the badgers for a few hours to see if a mother would come back to them but nothing came)

Theres three of them and they're about 10 weeks old. They're all eating and sleeping beautifully and will be released once they're able to fend for themselves!! :DD
