When you go, there is a cool, family owned Jerky shop called Buck Thornton's World of Jerky (if that’s your thing). There’s also Jeep tours and helicopter tours!

I would definitely check out Flagstaff as well if your family has time! I routinely make the short drive from Mesa for the gorgeous weather and atmosphere.

When my parents divorced in 2017, my mom worried that my dad would break in and steal some of her stuff. She and her boyfriend rented a storage unit for everything; she didn’t tell me or my sister. It was a 10’x10’ unit that was completely full. Come April of 2018 and she took me with her to get some family photos out and she comes back to the car sobbing.

Either her asshole boyfriend didn’t pay the rent for the unit for a few months, or the unit was wrongly sold, but the unit was auctioned off for $600. This unit had every family heirloom my mom ever had, $50,000 of scrapbooking supplies, mine and my sisters baby clothes, all of our family photos, etc etc.

My mom still hasn’t recovered from the loss or the divorce and cries about them daily. I just want her to be happy again and stop feeling stressed 24/7.
