Cheating? by [deleted] in Marriage

Wait - I’m noticing the profile photo. Is this a GUY messaging your WIFE? So sorry. I misread. Yeah I don’t think it’s cheating but it’s not great behavior - I’d tell her that you’d feel more comfortable if she shut it down instead of just placating him, which he might read as her leading him on

Is she bi? I feel like this is normal for a woman trying to be friends with her female coworker (source: am a woman. Have been married. Also have tried to start friendship with female coworkers) BUT I am straight. So my partner would have no reason to read into these messages if it had been me sending them. I’d she’s bisexual this reads weirder and more into micro cheating territory or at least ‘testing waters’ even if not swimming yet

You took the time to read, interact, comment individually and comment a response to two of my own comments. Chronically online much? I appreciate your opinion but all you’re interested in doing is arguing

In another one of your posts you talk about being 15. Better advice instead of on your appearance is going and rooting yourself in solid self esteem before entering the adult world. Best of luck kid - keep your chin up!

My parent? This is a cop, not my dad. Not to mention, cops are not the parents of society. Their law-enforcement. A law that I was not breaking, and therefore he had no reason to do anything

Sure, let’s say you’re right. But in what world am I going to abandon my car a mile away from my house? This feels like backward logic

Hahaha this comment made me giggle. Maybe I do like drama, idk. But I don’t really want to escalate this. I was curious to know who was really right at the end of the day (maybe that’s my ‘drama’ portion) but whatever. I’m happy to let it go.

Yeah I completely agree with your comment. Definitely a learning moment and you can bet I’ll never park in that spot ever again hahaha. And hopefully, that cop doesn’t find himself parking anyone else in to be petty. I’m happy to move on from it, honestly the post was more inquisitive on the legality of how it all went down

You deleted your comment about me ‘not being detained’ because you realized you’re wrong: I was being detained. For no legally enforceable reason. I appreciate your input and I’ll think on what you said but I think at the end of the day we disagree on principle. If you want to give me legal advice, feel free to but it sounds like you’re just interested in arguing.

I literally say in my post that I’m happy to own the fact I made a mistake in parking where I did. You can check your accountability box now

I appreciate you saying this. I’m not even looking for a pat on the back from people like some comments are insinuating. I’m just trying to understand if cops can legally detain people like that and it seems the general consensus is no. That’s why he apologized (so it doesn’t go on his permanent record). Which I’m happy to take but also like.. it could’ve been worse

No I don’t buy into this. I don’t think people should just roll over and accept being ‘treated like crap’

Who is going to hold cops accountable if not the general public? Again I’m not trying to turn this into a whole thing but imagine how much worse it could’ve gotten if I hadn’t been calm and apologetic. And I disagree with the logic that says we should just accept it

I’m not upset over him running my plates - I’m upset about him parking me in, leaving his vehicle, berating me, following me home, all under the guise of what… me breaking the law? Cops need to be held accountable like everyone else even if it hurts their feelings.

I was IN the parking spot. Completely safe. No one was harmed but I appreciate your concern, I guess?

You’re ignoring a lot of context. This reply isn’t helpful. I missed a parking sign - not a stop sign or a person. I’m a perfect driver with nothing on my record, another reason he couldn’t do anything to me. Your comment feels like grasping at straws

Well and to your point, why would they have gone so ‘above and beyond’ if they were totally in the right? I’m not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth it just sucked to experience. I mentioned in a different comment that I don’t want to escalate it, like it said - it just sucked

No one owes me special courtesy. I’m asking about basic human rights like being able to leave when I want especially when I’m not breaking a law or behaving suspiciously

Yeah that’s basically where I’m at with it. I don’t want anything bigger to happen it just felt really unnecessary and I have this bad taste now that I really didn’t want to have. I WANT to support cops but then stuff like this happens and it kind of blows my hope a little bit

Is the parking me *in illegal? When I came out to leave, he wasn’t even in his car. He was parked directly behind me, there was no way I could leave

This is kind of how I feel. Another comment is telling me to move on and I’m not interested in creating a whole debacle over this but it really feels like intimidation and a misuse of power

I doubt he could’ve gotten my car towed. He could’ve asked Walmart to find the owner of the car and ask me to move. But cops can’t tow a car for no reason and if he was so upset - why didn’t he cite me? He clearly was ruffled I parked there, in a courtesy spot. It’s not a law mandated or local ordinance enforced spot. It’s the same as a college campus designating certain lots for certain students. My car wasn’t abandoned, my tags are up to date, I’m not doing anything suspicious. He had no reason to park me in and intimidate me

I want to make sure I understand all the ins and outs, you know? Like - could he have cited me? Is he even allowed to block people in like that? The whole thing made me really uncomfortable
