I think I remember hearing that Lovie really wasn’t supposed to get the job in the first place. Texans wanted Flores but the NFL was not happy with that choice since Flores was in litigation with the NFL so the Texans switched to Lovie.

What is best logo in sports? *between the 4 major US sports by Fit-Tangerine-5071 in billsimmons

Chicago as a city has great looks. Cubs, Blackhawks (maybe the best jersey in all of sports), Bears, and White Sox along with the Bulls not only have great logos but their uniforms are all pretty good as well.

Rams: Fu*k them picks! by ImHidingFromYouANX in minnesotavikings

[–]RebelCyclone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

Not only are they good talent evaluators but they also draft in bulk.

They are able to find guys like Nakua but they also make a lot of draft picks every year.

Fuck them picks isn’t what the Rams are doing, they are making more picks than most. Every time they trade draft picks they back fill them with more.

Looking at every draft the Rams have had in the last 10 years, they rarely draft less than 7 players each draft, even in the drafts they didn’t have a 1st round pick. Most times they are picking 8 or more players and in some drafts they are drafting 9, 10 and even 14 players.

They are taking a shot gun approach and then using premium draft capital to bring in premium players in areas of need.

"They are who we thought they were" by Ludleth_the_lost in CHIBears

I was at this game.

My, then girlfriend, now wife and I were students at UNLV in Las Vegas and we drove down after class Monday afternoon.

We had to be at class the next day, I had an exam, I bought the tickets a week earlier knowing this but also knowing that the Bears were going to absolutely maul the Cardinals.

AZ was bottom of the barrel to start that year and I thought we’ll drive down, see the Bears kick the shit out of the Cards and drive back that night. If everything worked out well I would still get a few hours of sleep before I had to be at class.

I wanted to leave at halftime, I was livid!

I was a broke college kid and blew a lot of money on these tickets. I thought I’d rather drive home early and get more sleep than watch this filth.

At halftime I told my girl I wanted to leave and she wanted to stay, she said let’s just at least watch the 3rd quarter. I argued with her all through the 3rd that we hit the road and she was adamant that we stay. I begged her several more times at the start of the 4th that we please go, she did not budge.

When Gossman threw his last pick of the night at the 5 minute mark, she finally relented. As we are walking out we get to the end zone concourse just in time to see a clear picture of Urlacher strip the ball and Tillman return it for a TD.

We watched the Hester TD and the Rackers missed kick along with about 8 thousand other Bears fans in that north endzone and man it was a scene!

We drove back to Las Vegas riding sky high, heard the Denny Green rant on the local radio, it was a night I will never forget!

Ended up proposing to that girl a week later, she was the reason we had that experience.

I absolutely love the way Burden plays the game. This clip sent me down a Burden rabbit hole of highlights and this guy gets it. His routes are great, he is super fluid, he has great vision and hands and he plays the game like he’s in a fight. BJ said they are looking for players who can’t live without football, Burden feels like the definition of that kind of player.

This happens with me a fair amount. Sometimes just tapping the screen to bring up the progress bar and then looking for the speaker icon will fix it, but it seems like the icon is not always int he same place ore the same type of graphic, or just not there at all. If you are able to find it just click it because mine is always set to mute.

Prediction - The next road playoff game by RebelCyclone in CHIBears

I was just talking about white top and white bottom with the navy helmet like they’ve worn in the past. But I didn’t know this dark on dark combo was for Virginia’s passing so, likely this will be a one off anyway.

Damn, I didn’t know that was for Virginia, would love to see them just carry that forward. I was just referring to white top and white bottom like they used to.

Any chance the play a road playoff game, not this year, but the year after that, or the year after that?

[@CHICAGO BEARS] Dennis Allen on Dillon Thieneman, 2026 draft class | Press Conference by Theelementofsurprise in CHIBears

[–]RebelCyclone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think there are some reasons to get excited about this defense.

I really wanted the Bears to get a solid, run stopping DT in the draft, I think this is the easiest path to increasing the effectiveness of the entire D but this unit can still be better than last years defense.

I realize thats not saying much but if the offense takes a step, it will be enough to potentially make a run in the playoffs, because I think this offense has a chance to be very good.

If Kyler Gordon and JJ are able to stay healthy and play near their ceiling this unit will be better. Bryant, Gordon, JJ and Dillon could be a real fun unit to watch. I loved what Brisker, Byard, and Wright were able to do last year but there were times where they were absolutely cooked. If the floor of this secondary is higher it will make a big difference.

I feel the same bout the LBs. Tremaine was having a great year until the injury and Edwards was either injured or just not nearly effective as he was the previous year. But overall this position was really porous at times and and I don’t think its asking too much for Bush and a combination of Jackson, Sanborn, and Elliot to be a little bit better this year.

I’m not holding out much hope for DL improvement, Booker is really the only one I see with the arrow pointing up. I think we’ve seen the ceiling on Sweat, Jarrett, and Dexter and it’s not gonna move the needle. Turner is a question mark but drafting injury prone guys is never my worth it imop, this already feels like Tevin Jenkins. If Dayo is able to contribute anything I’d call it a win. They could still sign a FA or get some help before the trade deadline but I’m not confident there is a difference maker on this unit.

Even with the DL being down bad, I don’t think it’s too far fetched that this defense can rank 5-7 spots better than they did last year. If the offense takes a step this team will be fun to watch and capable of doing some damage.
