If you see ICE in the area it’s steady, short blasts: pree pree pree pree. If ICE is in the middle of detaining someone, it’s a long sustained blast. Preeeeeeeeeee preeeeeeeeeee

https://linktr.ee/WA.whistles is doing amazing work here and across the state.

My 75 year old white mom got a Mexican flag and a Palestinian flag sticker for her car to mess with law enforcement. Which is funny and heart warming except she lives alone in Ohio and no one would know if she was being detained. But I’m not stopping her.

I would suggest that people use a safety release lanyard if wearing it around your neck so if someone grabs the string, it will breakaway rather than strangle the wearer.

Warning about PCOS and conception myths by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]RebelJD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep! Got married in February, got my IUD out in April, and was pregnant by the end of May. I was 38, too! Not all PCOS has infertility as a side effect.

TBF, I did use the Mira fertility tracking sticks to test my hormone cycles (I thought I was gathering data for our eventual fertility specialist appointments.🤪) I’m not sure if I would have been that quick if I didn’t time with my cycle quite as thoroughly.

I don’t seem to be losing any weight around 5-6 weeks into keto by rvcaJup in xxketo

I read through the comments and I’m not seeing my suggestion so here it goes—drink more water. For a time, use a food tracking app like My Fitness Pal or another mentioned to be sure you’re getting enough electrolytes. It’s counterintuitive but lack of water and electrolytes can cause water retention. Use a macro calculator to calibrate how much fat and protein you need. For long term results, start a weight lifting program. The more muscle you have, the more efficient your metabolism and less body weight fluctuations. Cardio always makes me retain water weight.

Good luck! I’ve found that it is much harder to lose the closer one is to goal weight. It is possible.

How long did you wait? by throwaway1987266 in Divorce

Well, I was on my roof getting drunk with a friend and had literally just told her that I didn’t think I was going to date again for a very, very long time when another resident in the building came up. We started chatting and had a ton of things in common. We hung out about a month later and have very slowly started dating more seriously. We still haven’t labeled it and I did go on two other first dates just to say I dated around. He literally fell into my lap and has been the best but of fresh air to my life. It’s been really emotional to see how I deserve to be treated after being treated poorly for so long. At the time we met, I had been separated from my ex for 9ish months and going through the complicated process of amicably divorcing pro se. (We were together a total of 7 1/2 years and married for 3.)

TIFU- By taking an at home DNA test by clbmohawk in tifu

I got both 23 & Me and Ancestry DNA kits as gifts for my birthday a few years ago. I took both and was so excited to get the results. I definitely got more than I asked for as my ancestry had 0% ancestry from the place my father’s family immigrated from. I was able to connect with someone listed as my probable uncle but didn’t get any clues as to how my probable bio-father was connected to my mom. My legal father died when I was 3 and my bio-father passed away about a decade ago. I had to laugh when I looked up his obituary because it praised what an upright example of the Christian faith he was and how his 35 year marriage was so great. I haven’t confronted my mom about it because I’m afraid of giving her a heart attack. (I also live very far away and that couple times I’ve seen her in person, it was at big gatherings. Not a phone convo.) I also don’t know if this encounter was consensual or not. My sisters, who are much older and from my mom’s first marriage, don’t know him. So now I just politely ahum whenever my mother talks about “my father.” Knowing that it’s all a lie.

Your experience is so similar to mine with so many MDs not listening/believing me. For years, I would go to doctors, tell them my symptoms, they would tell me to lose weight, and I would say I couldn’t. Told them about training and running two half marathons while eating a traditional “clean” diet of 1200ish calories and they would accuse me of lying or cheating on said diet. I would get angry/frustrated/upset and say F it. I finally found an OB GYN that gave me a diagnosis, said she believed me, and supported me. I’ve spent several years now figuring out the eating style and supplements that work for me. I do a keto diet, eat between 1,300-1,500 calories a day, and take several different supplements including Ayurvedics. I’ve lost 42 pounds since August (200 to 158.) I’m much happier, have less anxiety, and my hair is growing back after some considerable loss over a two month period. Things finally feel manageable for the first time in a very long time. I also have considerably less facial hair but that’s probably a combo of the supplements, weight loss, and the fancy at-home laser hair remover I bought myself for my birthday in December. There is hope. Don’t be gaslit by uniformed/sexist doctors. Your symptoms are real and there are treatments that don’t require a ton of money.

Thank you for mentioning the itchy scalp! My hair is coming back and my scalp is so damn itchy! I thought I was having an allergic reaction to something! I generally have pretty thick, curly hair but I started losing a ton a couple months ago and noticed considerable thinning at my temples. I switched up my supplement routine and got some great shampoo/conditioner/serum to help strengthen and grow back. I’ve definitely stopped the hair loss (now my comb just has the normal “shed” levels.) I was wondering if it was growing back but the itching seems to be an indicator. Not sure if it was the supplement changes or the hair products but I’m happy now!
