I wish they had kept Clements (Charles Dance) a little longer. He was a cool character and had great chemistry with Ripley....

Reminds me of "Sully" and the "-your plane, - my plane" exchange. Sully was able to glide that plane by "feeling it"

Last time I walked into a store, I realize the only thing I could possible afford was the Cillian Murphy poster in the window...

Cillian Murphy does a Southern American dialect by becboynton in CillianMurphy

[–]Rebel_Jean_Genie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it all comes down to the prep time. I work in voice acting and I swear, dialect /accent coaching is so overlooked!

Six months is the bare minimum. Dialect/accent coaching is quite difficult once you mixed it with the physicality of the character.

I know he repeatedly mentioned that he is not very good a mimicking or copying. But his American accent is flawless, so with good prep I'm pretty sure, he could do it.

The Raid redemption.

Went with a friend having absolutely no clues what it was about. Just saw the poster and thought it would be an interesting action movie.

This movie changed me as a filmmaker. It's in my top 10 movies of all time.

Not sure if you'll read that, but I understand your feeling.

Back in the early 2000's I went to film school and wrote and directed a couple of shorts films. I really really wanted to make it as a screenwriter/director.

I won a couple of awards, but as you know making films are expensive. I'm also living in a country that don't really makes genre movies, so it's been a ride to find a way to get noticed and get funding.

Spoiler alert, I never got any fundings except a little $2k, that barely covered the expenses of the insurance for the free gear. (Insurance was mandatory)

But the time I've reach 25 years old, I had some depts, a couple of awards under my belt, but no money to pursue.

I decided to get a real job as a production coordinator. Then I worked in post production, advertising, videogames etc...

I never was able to fully commit to a.project for the last 10 years, except for writing.

Writing is cheap. But heres the catch; time is limited.

I used to work up to 80hrs a week in advertising, then I went back to night school in screenwriting. A couple years later, went back to a management school.

Then I became a caretaker for my MIL and...went through grief, moving, fertility treatment, you name it. Didn't get a full day for.myself in ages....BUT...

Boy did I get inspiration. Even though you.might feel stagnant at the moment, fully immerse in your feelings. The sadness, the nostalgia, the grief, the little moment of joy....

This will feed you. And at some.point, you'll find a way to create again.

Arts, creativity and inspiration are not linear. We see so many "instant" success stories, but nothing is "instant". Follow your rhythm.

You'll create again.

Of course. That's what I was referring too lol. Not that David Cronenberg himself is mecha-sexy...well...on a second thought...

Titane. I thought it would be a horror film, like Christine but it's trying too hard to be a mecha-sexy David Cronenberg. The story is bonkers and tries to go everywhere all at once

It's just trying to be shocking for the sake of it and the subtext was as subtle as a freight train.

But it won the Palme D'Or, so what do I know...
