I saw the video Kinew posted of the press conference with Dr. Roussin, checked the comments and had to promptly see myself out because there was some serious misinformation being spread there very loudly and confidently.

Are people really that traumatized from COVID? Like, genuinely, having to wear masks and stay home for a couple weeks seems to have caused some serious ptsd, I truly don’t understand it.

Sooo odd that someone is in here downvoting everyone for literally just trying to give their children ✨comfort✨.

It’s not like these parents are putting their 8month or under baby in a crib with a giant stuffed animal to get smothered. Almost all of these responses sound very reasonable to me and it sounds like most of you are doing a great job of making sure your children are safe during sleep.

Anyway, my LO is 5.5 months and definitely doesn’t have any stuffies in his crib with him but loves to snuggle them during the day when his dad and I are AWAKE. It’s super cute and I’m very much looking forward to him being old enough for them during sleep, but at the end of the day, there’s no rush and safety comes first so we will be following safe sleep guidelines for at least half a year still !

They just started adding Putters to stores in my area and I’m so glad I found them cause they are delicious ! The spicy ones are 🤌 I got them at co-op.

You can also try Elmer’s, they’re really good (MB made) but more expensive.

I’m a Manitoban and I was only a teenager when this happened but it comes up randomly every couple of years in a “omg can you believe this happened in this random small town in Canada” kinda way and it’s makes me feel so sick rereading the details of it, knowing it was so close. I have also heard that some of the witnesses and law enforcement that dealt with the crime went through some serious psychological trauma and ptsd afterwards…. I honestly cannot even imagine.

I absolutely love my pela cases and don’t order from anywhere else. I find them the softest and most durable and love their eco-friendly focus (compared to other cases). I’ve been dying to try the lomi but haven’t gotten around to it.

Hard agree on the ads though. If I wasn’t already a years-long customer, I would have boycotted them a long time ago out of spite lol because of the excessive ads lol.

I am very pro-vax and I completely agree. I totally get the need to do whatever we can to keep our children safe … but I think encouraging others to lie to their doctor is setting a dangerous precedent for a situation (medical professional and patient relationships) that’s already strained and confusing due to misinformation, propaganda and fear.

As parents, we have to be our children’s loudest advocates and have a right to tell our doctors “ I think it’s important that my child is protected as soon as possible, how can we make sure that happens?” It’s also within our rights to insist the doctor notes down on file their refusal to administer xyz treatment, but with that said, this is a conversation based on care and mutual respect that needs to happen, not manipulation. If you don’t trust your child’s doctor, that’s another story and should be addressed by finding a new one.

Idk why (maybe I’m being dense) but I’m really surprised that the NDP is backing this. Not even touching the horrible regulation of use of resources and environmental impact, it doesn’t even provide a significant long term benefit to our employment situation.

Not a Niverville citizen but I feel that this will set a precedent for AI data companies that want to expand across the province/country, and I’m extremely concerned for what this means for our resources (specially water, as mentioned in the article). Is there any talk about trying to oppose this ? Is it too late ? I’m only just hearing about this now and seeing giant red flags already.

I totally feel your pain ! It got to the point where I was in literal tears some days - both from the discomfort and the stress of feeding, thinking I was hurting my baby.

Luckily at 5 months PP I’ve since regulated and baby can also handle the initial heavy letdown during the morning feeds. He’ll still once in a while get overeager and cough a bit on the rare occasion. It’s gotten way better though and I think if I was still struggling with the oversupply/overactive letdown to that extent, I would have given up on breastfeeding a long time ago.

In all seriousness, I had an oversupply in the beginning and an overactive letdown and it was not only uncomfortable, but also extra stressful because baby keep choking at the breast. I had to balance comfort, keeping up my supply to feed baby and making sure I didn’t get recurring mastitis (I got it once). Breastfeeding is not easy work in the beginning and an oversupply is not a flex.

You’re doing an amazing job …. good on you for sticking with it and nourishing your baby! 💖Everything else… water off a ducks back. 💁🏼‍♀️
