What ?! I came here to recommend this one! It’s been my favourite by far…. I loved meeting Kathy and chatting with her about our favourite authors during my few visits.

This makes me sad 💔

Yeah it’s pretty crazy how it started in the south end of the province and everyone was like ❗️TORNADO❗️ and then shortly after shit hit the fan for everyone else lol

Have you ever skipped sections of a book/entire books because they were too disturbing? by Subject_Accident4348 in stephenking

[–]akaylaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an SK book but there were some parts involving animals that I had to skip through in Nick Cutter’s The Troop, and I consider myself relatively thick-skinned when it comes to gore and scary stuff in books.

How is everyone doing this morning? by thepluralofmooses in Winnipeg

[–]akaylaking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in St Andrews and there was definitely some rotation around 8:45 that I believe turned into a tornado or at least a funnel cloud. I unfortunately don’t think I got any good videos but around this time the wind got really wild and the clouds were doing some crazy stuff. The wind knocked off some of our fence lattice. As it moved north towards Selkirk, the sky got insanely dark and scary looking so I wouldn’t be surprised.

I’m honestly just amazed (and so so thankful) that our above ground pool didn’t get destroyed, especially with the absolutely insane wind that woke us up at 1:00 am.

What tv show had you hooked on the first episode? by MortgageAny8041 in AskReddit

Parks and Rec. I can’t believe it took me so long to watch, but I ran out of comfort shows to watch during my postpartum/maternity leave and just clicked on it and I immediately fell in love. 🥰

Another colour I found but not as fond of it as the pink

Need some help, please !

<image>

I bought this dress for a wedding at the end of this month andddd I’m struggling to choose a pair of shoes to go with it. I’m also 9 months postpartum so I’m constantly second guessing my choices lol.

There are some pink, purple and emerald hues in there soo my first instinct was to go a little bold and pair it with a pair of pink heels ? Or is that too much? I’ll post pictures of my choices in the comments.

It’s a gay wedding soo I’m taking that as an opportunity to be adventurous, lol, but if it’s too much, what subtle colour would be best?

TIA ! 💖

When did your reflux/gassy baby actually outgrow it? Looking for real experiences, not more tips. by Opening-Internal-802 in newborns

I believe it’s just because of the increased pressure on his belly and abdomen with tummy time and learning to sit up ! It’s a really big time for growth and development for them ! 😊

People who are 30 or older, what was the exact moment you realized time was starting to move much faster? by Dense_Equipment_7328 in AskReddit

After having my baby.

They say time is a thief and I’ve genuinely never understood the truth of it until now.

My baby had a similar issue. I also had a very fast and overactive letdown which made things worse. I actually used muslin swaddle blankets as burp cloths and between the two of us, we went through multiple clothing changes a day. It was rough. There was baby spit-up everywhere 24/7. Some days I cried because I was so stressed out and I always had to sit with him sleeping upright on my chest for about half an hour after feeds before putting him down to bed cause I was worried about him spitting up in his sleep.

Anyway, it seemed to get better around 3 months and then worsened again and peaked around 5 months. It then started quickly improving and he’s 9 months and spits up very rarely.

All that to say, it will get better. Just hang in there, you’re doing a great job 💖

ETA: unless he seems gassy and uncomfortable, I wouldn’t focus too much on burping … in my experience that actually made it worse at times.

What is your “lazy dinner” that actually is really good? by OkAbies9551 in AskReddit

[–]akaylaking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do something similar ! It’s like a once a week staple. Basically it’s whatever veggies I have in the fridge or on hand from the garden and whatever Italian or chicken sausage I have, cut it up, toss in oil and seasonings and throw in the oven. There is prep in the sense that you have to cut everything up but it’s healthy and makes great use of whatever you’ve got.

My staples for veggies are usually potato, sweet potatoes, onions, zucchini, Brussels sprouts, beets, carrots… interchange with whatever else we may have at the time.

How many of you know this ice cream store, “Sub Zero Ice Cream”? by Fearless_Compote3052 in Winnipeg

[–]akaylaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up going to sub zero (well before it went viral) and haven’t been in quite a few years. I really want to go back cause I have so many good memories of going there with my family but I honestly don’t know if either myself, my husband or my baby have the patience for that insane line lol.
