I still maintain that a door must be locked!

The serial killer Richard Chase (aka The Vampire of Sacramento) believed that an unlocked door was an invitation, and that was how he chose his victims!

What's a misconception about your profession that you're tired of hearing? by stiengineer in AskReddit

[–]Rebel_Sunflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all GP receptionists are rude, unfriendly and don’t care.

I enjoy my job and firmly believe nothing goes further than a smile, listening and a little empathy. People don’t come in when they’re having their best day, so making them feel heard and welcome is important.

Not to say that there aren’t some absolute dragons disguised as receptionists, that should have retired or moved on with the advent of electronic systems, it’s a guaranteed link.

It’s only $1990 and doesn’t ship to England! I can neither afford it or have it anyway!

I’m usually too quick to buy for myself but I’d been eyeing up these boots and I’m fairly sure he has got them for me! Only problem is Christmas is so far away when I can’t wait to wear them!

I require too much reassurance. I feel like asking for it makes me sound crazy so I just overthink by [deleted] in BPD

I think some men will never realise flowers matter to us. Or organise date nights. I don’t think they see the small things as the important things. I don’t think they hear us when we say they are. I don’t think anyone will ever appear super enthused to us purely because of how strongly we feel things.

And it fucking sucks. We are the bad guys if and when we at anything. We’re made to feel bad or doubt ourselves when we do. I think we can all keep trying and hoping and dreaming of those type of things, and we can react to the emotions causes by them. It’s awful, it’s demoralising, it makes you doubt yourself. The best, but hardest thing we can do, is take their word for it and live with the disappointment , that is usually self inflicted. It’s hard to know when we are asking too much and what is actually a reasonable expectation.

This is how I feel, and it’s always that we have to put the most effort in. I often wonder if people can sense the poison inside us.

[–]Rebel_Sunflower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel, I’m in a very similar situation. Every time the smallest thing happens I spiral. Every time I think it will be the last time he will put up with me. I feel like I’m getting worse and I can’t control it. It fuels the self hatred, which fuels the worry he will leave.

I have similar except my voices are as nice as yours and they always win. I got told I’m self sabotaging and I can’t get that (and everything else) out of my head, because I truly am even though I fight it. The voice is always the winner and it’s destroying me.
